Event: Maskerade Festival - Info
NO COSTUME
Itâll take Klug a bit to talk himself into putting on a costume. Though heâs very curious about the candies and their magic, he thinks the festivities are silly.
This is the best state for him to react to others in costume, however
Heâs practically a magnet pulled towards characters with power and strong magic. Heâll also have interest in those who have become something darker or infernal. Itâs a good opportunity to make a first impression--and to mess with someone easy to manipulate
On the lighter end of things, Klug is used to bizarre and nonsensical things happening around him on a regular basis. This does not mean he likes it. He will not be amused by shenanigans, meaning heâs perfect to get dragged into shenanigans.
GENIUS KNIGHT
Fine, you got him. He took the dang candy after getting together a costume resembling his Genius Knight alt in Quest.
He has magic back!...Kind of. Most of it just looks flashy, though he can do a Zelda-style sword beam five times a day.
Also yes he has a real sword dear god help us all
Thankfully, he did gain some basic swordfighting knowledge from the costume, so he probably wonât fall on the thing.
His personality doesnât change very much in this state, but his confidence appears to run slightly deeper than surface level now, and heâs much less cowardly, prone to throwing himself into danger to âproveâ himself, fighting âmonstersâ including others âin characterâ. Heck, he might even be brave/stupid enough to go to the Mistwood! Siege the castle! Get treasure! Slay the dragon! Probably get killed by the dragon when he runs out of sword beams!
He also is extremely prone to leaning on knight-in-shining-armor and even occasional magical girl/sparkly anime-style tropes and stereotypes.
SPARKLING DARK MAGE
After the previous escapades, Klug wants to try out something a little more interesting. Itâll probably be fine!
This costume is more based on the Sparkling Klug alt in Quest, but without the book and a few shades darker (though no less sparkly and gaudy).
...and he decided putting devil horns and vampire fangs on it was a good idea, just as a test. While that didnât make him either of these things outright, it did lead to more mental change than the first time--and certainly more than he expected.
To put it bluntly, Klug has totally lost himself to the role of a melodramatic card-carrying villain. His behavior is somewhere between his normal self but evil and a little closer to Strange Klugâs more refined, calm personality than heâd like to think about afterward. Basically heâs impish and likes to cause trouble and inconvenience, but acts the part of a grandiose dark sorcerer when confronted, and talks a big game.
He still kind of looks like a poser and doesnât have much more power than he did before, aside from some very minor illusory and otherwise aesthetic magic (create sparkling visual illusions no larger than a three-foot cube lasting up to five minutes, five times a day).
As time goes on, heâll sink deeper and deeper into the role, to the point where he might forget about the costume and candies entirely!
