It’s me and my shiny Ho-oh talking to Morty who dedicated his entire life to the goal of becoming worthy and chosen by the same Pokémon that is standing behind me.

He spent his ENTIRE LIFE training, becoming gym leader, being nice to people and taking care of Ecruteak City. Not to become famous or wealthy, all he wanted was for Ho-oh to choose him.

And you are some ten year old kid coming from the country, you just come to the city with Rainbow Wing in your hand and Ho-oh is like “This kid totally deserves me. Come and throw your Master Ball at me, baby.”. Morty wouldn’t even catch Ho-oh, he just wanted to be worthy of him.

Pokémon is basically about crushing dreams of other people.
