“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person’s body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“One of the most satisfying experiences I know is just fully to appreciate an individual in the same way I appreciate a sunset. When I look at a sunset … I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple in the cloud color” … I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds. It is this receptive, open attitude which is necessary to truly perceive something as it is.”
— Carl Rogers (via purplebuddhaquotes)

“You can tell how dangerous a person is by the way they hold their anger inside themselves quietly.”

My friends
celebrate your growth, forgive yourself for your past mistakes, resolve to do better. be easier on yourself, but never be satisfied. push yourself to be a better person, but understand when you make mistakes. growth is a constant process that happens in fits and starts.
“A woman can be beautiful, with skin soft like cotton candy, or rough like a battle zone, with armor and gold. A woman can be beautiful, with words sweet like rich chocolate, or raw like dripping honey. A woman can be beautiful, with her body swelling and dipping like the ocean, or smooth and still like a frozen pond. A woman can be beautiful, in any way, in any form because a woman’s radiance is beauty. And there is no greater radiance than a woman who has finally learned self love.”

Spain’s new government breaks the record with the largest amount of women in the cabinet in the country’s and world’s history
17 ministries. 11 women and 6 men.
Spain’s new cabinet has more women than any other previous government. Also, many of them have been given the important ministries (traditionally, female politicians in Spain have been given those ministries that have been less important, such as the ministry of culture). Among the new cabinet, there’s an astronaut, a journalist and a primary school teacher.
The graphic shows the amount of female ministers in the different Spanish governments since democracy. During the Spanish Civil War, Federica Montseny, an anarchist, became one of the first female ministers in Europe She legalized abortion and built shelters for women who either got and abortion or kept the baby and where thrown out of their homes due to social stigma (in the area controlled by the II Republic).
Spain has broken the world record, which Finland had previously held, becoming the world’s country with the largest amount of women in the cabinet right now.
“I used to think I was tough, but then I realized I wasn’t. I was fragile and I wore thick f***ing armor. And I hurt people so they couldn’t hurt me. And I thought that was what being tough was, but it isn’t.”
— James Frey (via purplebuddhaquotes)
I can relate to this
“Some women are lost in the fire. Some women are built from it.”
— Michelle K. (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“I no longer think she’s just being nice. She’s being kind. Which is much more a sign of character than mere niceness. Kindness connects to who you are, while niceness connects to how you want to be seen.”
— David Levithan (via purplebuddhaquotes)
