I want to cosplay as something, I wanted to do Chloe Price from life is strange, but I'm definitely not the body type. And while I looked around on the internet for things to do her. I got really anxious. (First time cosplaying.) Any suggestions on someone to cosplay?? I have medium brown hair, blue eyes, kinda pale. I wear glasses if that even helps, ahah. Help

Okay so i haven’t looked at this blog in forever- just a coincidence i looked right now.

And my main advice? Just cosplay Chloe Price!

Cosplay allows for fluidity in accuracy- it diverses characters and makes the whole experience good for everyone! If someone wanted to do a plus-sized, racebent, genderbent, Lara Croft- they can and someone probably has!

I understand as someone whose plus sized that the options are limited so i genuinely believe we have to say screw the naysayers and cosplay the characters we want to cosplay!

Hi! my friend is a first time cosplayer and I'm helping her find a good wig for our life is strange cosplay group , she is cosplaying Chloe price , I was wondering if you could link me to some affordable accurate wigs Because I'm really really struggling to find any that look accurate to the character ! Thanks so much !!

I looked up a bunch but none of them are 100% exact and it’s hard to gauge what exact shade of blue chloe has (sorry i looked up images because i’ve never played) and the cut is tricky but most you only need to alter slightly- also with the style trying to find the messy look might be up to you to. The best way i’ve found is to braid it, blow dry on low heat, unbraid, then use a strong amount of hairspray.

 So I’ll list a bunch ranging in prices/shades/cut going from shortest to longest:

Bright. blue wig. | £9.91+

Very light. Straight. blue wig | £9.53

Electric Blue. Choppy. Blue wig | £10.56

Light blue. Straight. Bob | £19.99

Pale almost Lilac. Straight then curly. Blue wig | £25.58

Dark pale blue. curly. wig | £34.30

For those of you getting ready for con season (ahem, Kamicon), here’s an easy way to remove old makeup stains! Mix a bit of blue dish soap and peroxide together and scrub the stained area with it.

How to cover up tattoos!

use a red lipstick covering the outlines

pat on a light concealer, using a setting powder

pat on your skin tone concealer, and clean up any mistakes using baby wipes to remove excess concealer

use a fluffy brush and smooth it out with foundation powder.

Adding a “lace front” the quick(ish) and (not really) dirty way. Featuring Levi because I hate this wig’s hairline with a passion.

Details in the captions, but basically I took the extra lace from a cheap eBay lace front wig (because swiss lace is waaaay expensive and I definitely don’t need it by the yard), glued it to the inside of the wig, and started stabbing tufts of extension hair through the lace. I hotglued it totally flat and just kept building. I used the same method to add the purple to my Eridan wig. 

Hope that helps a little! Now for a trim…

Especially by those who do not participate in the holiday or even bother to try. I personally am not against non-Latin@/Chican@ folks being invited into Dia de los Muertos events, but its completely different from someone who is simply browsing for costume ideas and decides to take this “look.” This celebration is not something you can buy and decorate with because of the fashion, it has collective and historical significance to the identities of many people.

I am already planning my cosplay for Anime Expo 2014, but I need some help. I am tan(in sports), blonde-ish brownish middle parted hair, green eyes, athletic body for the most part. I am 5'5". I do, however, have a dark brown hair wig that has bangs that goes to about middle shoulders or a little longer. Any character ideas? Thanks ahead of time!

a ‘bad’ wig doesn’t ruin a cosplay because ‘good’ wigs cost a lot of money and people work with what they have. Maybe this

a badly kept wig can make a cosplay not so good but it doesn’t ruin it

how about that?

Anyone who buys a wig, here are some tips.

brush the wig when you can, keep it somewhere tidy

get a wig stand, they are dirt cheap, if you can’t buy one, put the wig inside out and store it in a plastic bag - again brush it when you can

To make a wig not shiny, use baby powder, it takes a bit to get it okay.

I can’t think of anymore tips.

But what ruins a cosplay for me is people being rude about someones cosplay. I don’t know if you were saying someone with a ‘bag wig’ ruins a cosplay or that ill kept wigs ruin a cosplay because any wig can be changed, apart from if it is falling apart and then you should really get a new one.

Half-Mourning was the third stage of mourning for a widow. She would be expected to mourn her husband for at least two years, the stages being Full Mourning, Second Mourning and Half-Mourning. The different stages regulated what they would be wearing, with Full Mourning being all black and with no ornamentation, including the wodow’s veil, and the stages after that introducing some jewellery and modest ornamentation. When in Half-Mourning you would gradually include fabrics in other colors and sort of ease your way out of mourning.
