Table Dream I Had, In Sans' POV and saw Toriel and Annoying Dog

UT dream I had today I just woke up from a dream of seeing toriel (overworld colored sprite) and toby (annoying dog). and then IM IN SANS' POV AGAIN, SO I FELT SMALL. imagine VR Chat but the blue jacket and hands are PIXELY like the subconscious is really teasing me for infodumping and debunking facts about him huh /pos there was a stage setting like the PS4 collector's edition soundtrack cover and a tableclothed table was there. Toby began skateboarding down the black arch slide like he did at the livestream and went under the table! Toriel clapped, and looked at me. "Did you see that dog?" I nodded, "yeah..." then turned Sans' skull to see the table was melting like it was injected by DT... I felt worried. Toriel guided me to Home. Fade to white. . .

.... but it did play "My Castle Town" throughout... there were no DR characters though? so, uhh... at least I got a sign that toby is working on his projects and taking breaks time to time ig? I didn't get symbols about his team though. but ig that's what's going on in the studio.

sans' reactions are really challenging. look into his slippers and read why.

can you imagine trying so hard to express yourself while having a unmoving permanent grin that barely moves only by the corners of your mouth? can you imagine trying to react to something only your eyes and hands can show?

you have to react to something funny. did you try laughing? was it, "heheh, that was really good." because you can't express anything else than that?

how about reacting to something sad? did you try frowning? the corners of your mouth probably did. it's very subtle when others look at you, a bit unnoticeable. if you didn't and made a nervous, anxious expression instead using your eye sockets, that's a more better way to let others know you have a lot of sympathy when it comes to sad situations. Even better, closing your eyes slowly and thoughtfully can let others know you're feeling their pain, and you may have solutions and advices to give to them. See, Sans? You're a good person. What makes you think you're a dirty liar? What makes you think you're "lazy" when you have the loyalty to help others?

Trying to shrug it off? Shrug your shoulders. Wink your right eye open and tell yourself you're going to be okay and you'll make it out of there. It's okay if you had to wink your left eye on purpose. You're telling us that you're pressured and blunt to do anything else to stop everything.

I know it's hard to express yourself with that grin of yours. But at least there's other ways you could show that you really care for others. You said it yourself, to "take care of yourself. cause someone out there really cares for you."

there's nothing else i could do for this anniversary now that i'm busy. but i can say that the first thing I thought of was... "Six. That's all the souls we have thus far." After that, I listened to the entire soundtrack. This game has moved me very much. Even if i'm having another fandom at the moment that I was finally able to lean on more than this 5+ year special interest, I can never leave this fandom. I love this game very much.

HC Sans wears shower cap as hair. People will ask him “Why are you wearing that in public” and he’ll answer “oh, this? it’s my wig.” When it rains he puts his hood on so his “hair” doesnt get wet. Optional to apply this to Papyrus.

Ya’ll I have the funniest but the most explanatory Sans and Papyrus headcanon who wants to hear it.

Ok so.

This theory is old as time, but we’re all pretty sure Sans worked at the lab at some point. With the dog food bag that was in there that Papyrus recognized, the ‘hint hint, nudge nudge’ that there was a dog in there, the fact that Alphys and Sans know each other well enough to talk over each others sentences.

It’s well established.

Thing is, because of Papyrus phone call dialogue, I found something else:

((As you can see, this is in waterfall….WAY BEFORE the cooking show happens))

((He also knows for sure that a ghost used to live in MTTs house, despite you not telling him so, him never reading the diaries, and no one else really knowing this.))

So uhm……Weird that Papyrus can perfectly predict at least two of Alphys’ inventions, even already claiming to know MTTs eyes.

So uhh, this sounds uneducated but my first thought was “HOLY SHIT DOES PAPY WORK AT THE LAB TOO”

So it’s possible that he’s just the idea guy. Alphys and him ARE friends on social media. So it’s fully possible that he tells her his random invention ideas and Alphys is just like “Dude I can make that happen.”

However.

This spawned the funniest headcanon I might ever have.

Papyrus does work at the lab, at least somewhat, for money or fun or something to do instead of sleeping.

But he works invention-wise. He’s the idea guy and helps Alphys build shit. (maybe even the DT machine who knows) In return she’s his friend and gives him puzzles to use (al legit gave papyrus a free puzzle) 

Thing is, this is a kinda weird situation for Pap, because (maybe bc of he-who-shall-not-be-named) He and Sans don’t really care for the lab, and Papyrus wants to commit to being in the royal guard.

So Papyrus keeps this as a secret from Sans either for the reasons stated above or a surprise.

But.

Sans also used to work at the lab. But he helped out with the DT experiments, something Papyrus never knew about. Sans also still helps out presently, with taking care of the amalgamates at least. And, because the DT experiments went really bad, he’s also keeping this a secret from Papyrus.

So both brothers worked at the lab, and both are keeping this a secret from each other.

And poor Alphys has to juggle both of them.

Undertale Theory: Sans Might Have Pathological Demand Avoidance

Hey! I finally got a theory you guys should know about!

It’s about this underrated diagnosis coined by Elizabeth Newson. The term can be named two ways:

* PDA - Pathological Demand Avoidance

* EDA - Extreme Demand Avoidance.

We seen Papyrus having signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Alphys having Aspergers, Undyne is NT, but what about Sans?

I went to the PDF of the EDA questionaire and Sans has gotten 17/20 Most Likely, has this lifelong condition. No headcanon or sub-theory cheats such as “oH Gaster caused him to have it!”, it’s all from in-game.

You been meming a guy who tries to follow commands, but can’t and ends up either throwing tantrums or stands there and does what he likes to do: absolutely nothing.

I have plenty of evidence types: Pacifist dialogue, scenes, phone calls, battle dialogue, and music.

Feel free to PM me if interested to collab on this theory. I will make a discord server regarding this theory and title it “Sans EDA” so it’s more organized and you can make as much responses as you want.

Requirements:

* Interest into Psychology

* Mental Health Knowledge

* Autism Knowledge, and doesn’t use it as a threatened insult

* Withstands redundant words often used 

* Knows most of Sans’ routes and actions

There will be a triggers tag for uncomfortable ones and informal server tags for informal “idk what im doing” responses. Spectators may join.

Anyway, this is made with paint BECAUSE my mom took away my ipad, along with the tumblr app and the Autodesk Sketchbook app (nooooo! That’s where I usually draw to upload stuff here!) but I still have my other, but it doesn’t have the tumblr app. That’s why I haven’t been uploading. 

So uh…yeah. This picture shows Freddy staring at Sans and Papyrus that reminds him of his endoskeleton (I put a line to his bran, circled it, and drew the endoskeleton’s close-up face. You can see it in front of the AAAA! speech bubble.)  I think he’ll get it over when he figures out the skele-bros’ personality and their bad puns. I wasn’t lazy, I was too hyper to draw, that’s why it’s sloppy…

Undertale was the cherry on top for me during my final moments in childhood. Entering the adolescence stage was much more relieving thanks to this game.

Now to rewatch SuperShadic’s comic dubs.

The coolest thing about Undertale imo is that it’s not done with realistic graphics and so much of it is charming to your imagination and your sense of whimsy. You have to interpret and minds-eye a lot of the stuff in the game. The sprites themselves are of course, well made and adorable, but that you have to extrapolate the visuals yourself engages you in a creative and emotional way. 

You do get emotive visuals, like the Toriel hug, the angryface mannequin hopping around, but there’s a lot you get drawn into… conceptually, not because you’re seeing a literal tangible sadness. The shadowed statue being dripped on, and you can give it an umbrella. Blooky calling Mettaton’s show on the air because there’s no other way to reach him. The patch of yellow flowers near the garbage dump. Papyrus’s home-made rickety sentry station. “Sn… o… wy?”

The environments are so clean and the characters so simply drawn, it makes all of this emotional charge so obvious. 

This’s so, so well done through the fights. You’re just a heart in a box, but you’re creating an entire scene in your head according to how the attacks are drawn. You can sense the idea of Undyne whipping a spear at you forcing you to duck, or Sans throwing you bodily around the room as you jump back to evade a wall of bones shattering your body, or Mettaton dancing so fast his legs nearly hit you, or the inversion of Papyrus’s gravity magic where you leap over an immense bone at the end, the reality-defying height of the jump communicated through the UI having to change around you. 

Realistic fanart of Undertale’s fights is one of my fave things because of the realisation of the merely implied action we all saw and collectively dreamed a movie out of.
