A lot of 90s kids get a kick out of the idea that FPS hero Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was an update of a very 60s comic about an Indian fighting dinosaurs.

Fun fact: Acclaim, when it got the rights to the Gold Key/Valiant Comics characters, made a Turok video game first because Turok was one of the less famous of the bunch, so he would be a good “test” (the real jewel, at least at the time, was thought to be Russ Manning’s well-remembered Magnus: Robot Fighter). They were surprised Turok became a hit, and ended up not making games based on the more famous (at the time) Magnus: Robot Fighter and Solarr: Man of the Atom.
