"Y-Yeah, sorry 'bout that, partner. I'm... still gettin' used to the uhh... 'alternate universe' shenanigans, heh..."
[* Starlo rubs the back of his neck out of embarrassment from his earlier reaction. That's one less cup they have now...]
"Jeez, Ceroba's gonna be mad about the broken glass, probably... I should clean that up before Lyra gets to the shards..."
[* Starlo's brain finally catches up with him, and he notices the kid next to Clover. He kneels down to pick up the dropped object for them.]
"Ah, here. Lemme get that for ya."
* ( You pick up the BullWhip and give it back to its owner.)
* Oh, thanks! My name is Hope, Iām a friend of Cloverās!
* (Clover looks confused.)
* Whoās Lyra? I havenāt heard that name before.
"Heheh, nice to meet ya, Hope. I'm Starlo."
[* Starlo tilts his hat in greetings to Hope. Then he looks at Clover, briefly fixing his glasses.]
"Oh! Lyra is my daughter. Ah... adopted daughter. She's about eight months old now. If ya wanna meet her, just say the word. She should be about done with her nap by now."
* Iād like to meet her! Iām a bit awkward around lil kids thoughā¦
* Iām not! Iād love to meet her!
* (Hope put the BullWhip on their belt.)
"Haha! Alright, gimme a sec. I'll go get her."
[* Starlo walks away. After a moment, he returns with a baby cat monster in his arms. Lyra looks sleepy, like she just woke up from a nap.]
"Here she is. This is Lyra. Say hi, Lyra!"
[* Starlo moves Lyra's arm in a waving motion. Lyra just lets out a small, adorable yawn in response.]
* Awwā¦ hi Lyra..!
* (Hope speak higher pitched, quiet voice, as to not alarm her. They seem to be good with children.)
* (Clover doesnāt seem to know what to do.)
[* Lyra looks at Hope and coos softly. She looks at Clover, then wiggles in Starlo's arms, wanting to be set down.]
"Huh? Y'want me to put ya down, little star? Alrighty then."
[* Starlo puts Lyra down onto the floor, also taking the opportunity to clean up the broken glass from earlier. Lyra, still focused on Clover, crawls over to them.]
* (Clover kneels down to Lyra and holds out their hand a bit)
* howdy there.
* (they turn their head towards Hope, who responds with a thumbs up.)
[* Lyra looks at Clover's hand before reaching to grab it with both of her tiny hands. The whole interaction that Starlo is witnessing, he can't help but tear up, which he tries to hide behind his hat.]
"Aww, heheh... (Sniff) She r-really likes you... Normally she's pretty shy."
* (Clover holds Lyraās hands and looks up at Starlo.)
* Yāknow, Iāve found that I have a tendency to bring out the courage in people. Itās not really somethinā I do consciously, but Iām glad that tendency hasnāt faded yet.
"Heh... Sounds just like the Clover I knew..."
[* Starlo has a nostalgic tone in his voice, remembering the Clover from his universe. He's quiet for a moment before Lyra meowing snaps him out of his thoughts. He reaches down to pick her up again.]
"Ah, I know that meow. Someone's hungry. Sorry I gotta cut this short, but the little lady needs to eat. It's... nice to see ya Clover. Even if you're from a different... uh, what'd they call 'em... alternate reality? And it was real nice to meet ya, Hope."
* (Clover gets up and tips their hat)
* It was nice meeting you too! Both of you!
* Yeah, nice meeting you!
* (the duo walk behind something and mysteriously disappear)
