I think as much as Flame trusts Wemmbu as his go to when it comes to fighting together I think the reason why he doesn’t show Wemmbu the same vulnerability as he did with Lomedy is because a part of him still believed that Wemmbu saw him as like. A weapon.

Considering how Wemmbu, from Flame’s perspective, usually only searches for him whenever he needed Flame’s help in defeating something. And Wemmbu, being extremely avoidant after the betrayal during Zampire, would obviously never say how he would want to team with someone, like how he did with Jaden. Teaming with anyone else that isn’t Egg in the long run is a risk that he’s not willing to take, simply for the fact that he doesn’t trust them enough to want to be with them. And Imperial Fire had met each other under painful circumstances, where the both of them had hurt the other in some way without even realising it. While Torchflower had met each other by complete chance, under circumstances where Flame really didn’t have to fight in order to be wanted and to be loved.

While we know how Wemmbu cares for Flame and is obviously attached to him in some way, Flame doesn’t. To Flame he feels that Wemmbu is really only using him/coming to him for his strength instead of who he is as a person. Considering how Flame had gone through his own share of betrayals, it would make sense how Flame wouldn’t trust Wemmbu completely when it comes to sharing vulnerability(as well as just considering the type of blueprint their relationship was built on). Besides, Wemmbu really isn’t the type to show his more vulnerable side to anyone else that isn’t Egg, as he usually just brushes it off.

this!! i'd also like to add that this explains why flame said he liked parrot in the s2 finale despite not liking any of the other people he teamed up with.

parrot, despite very much still not getting flame, apologised to him for having treated him like everyone else once he saw that it affected flame. he empathised with him, which made flame hold him in a higher regard than the rest :)

It’s Parrot time gang!!

Here’s my hc on why he can’t fly!!

Parrot’s wings are unusable. They look normal, and are a decent size for flying, but the muscles in them are far too weak, and no matter what he’s tried, they won’t build up enough for flight. He can glide with them, but they don’t keep him up for very long. He uses an Elytra to help them so he can still fly. He was definitely bullied for this when he was younger btw

In my head it’s some sort of rare unknown disease that only avians can get and is probably passed down through your family. It isn’t contagious though, you’re simply born with it.

What happens when Parrot tries to fly is when he flaps too much his wings suddenly get really tired and he can’t hold them up anymore (this has made it very annoying to simply stretch sometimes). It’s easier to glide, since he’s not really moving them, but if he were to jump off of Paragon per se, his wings would give out on him before he can make it to the ground and he would probably die or injure himself very severely (this is one of the reasons Wifies made sure BAT threw slow falling on him!)

TYTYTY FOR LIKING MY FIC!! It’s finally time I drop my Wifies backstory bc I talk about him so much

In my hc he is not a clone!! Sorry to disappoint clonefies enjoyers, I am one of you, I love clonefies but I kinda came up with this before I got really deep in all his other lore and got attached so like…

He has a Creator and was born down in the void. He lived there with his 30 other not-really-siblings-but-what-else-do-you-call-all-the-other-kids-created-in-the-void-with-you, until he met Kenadian, who is still a cat hybrid but he grew up with Voidwalkers (I love Xisuma sm) so he’s kinda inherited their abilities (I’m grasping at straws ok ik) and eventually Ken takes him up to the Overworld after Wifies freaks out because he accidentally created his headband. By created I mean it literally came out of nothing. He immediately compares himself to his Creator and doesn’t want his siblings to find out because they would hate him (no they wouldn’t. …most of them anyway).

So Ken brings him up to the Overworld, and then a couple months later brought him out of Ken’s singleplayer world to meet Wato and the rest is history! (Unstable happens like. Four years later. Wifies was 17 when he was brought up from the void).

I use the creation power to kind of explain how Wifies just… somehow seems to have everything he and Parrot need most of the time. How he always has food and potions. The SPYGLASS in mining civ. Yeah.

He HATES using his power though. (He only willingly uses it for Parrot and Parrot doesn’t even know cause Wifies was too scared to tell him. Also yes this means he could’ve realistically used it to get out of Paragon at the end. But he didn’t).

Speaking of Paragon! At the end when he picked up the spyglass and died he was somehow able to preserve it and take it offworld and now it sits on his dresser at his home and every night before going to bed he lays down and holds it and says something like “I’m sorry Parrot. I never wanted to hurt you. I hope you’re ok. Goodnight.” Yes I know it was a closure thing, it still is, just let me have this 😭🙏

BUT uu squidfies would also be kinda in line with the other ships you mentioned if it's with directorfies. i mean ash literally said the director was the most powerful player in unstable

I oersonally hc that parrot didnt use an elytra originally and he had wings..

Yknow how people will clip their bird’s wings so they cant fly?

I feel like after wifies trapped parrot in the paragon, he had to clip parrot’s wings so he didnt try to fly out and afterwards he had to start using an elytra

Also somewhat related hc, after the paragon even tho parrot said smth along the lines of “i’ll remember you as the wifies i used to know” or smth I feel like since then like anything related to the Director or just the ‘new’ wifies he gets kinda nervous over it or js tries to get away from it or get it out of the way

ahhhhhh yeah, i've seen that hc around. i personally don't like it cuz i don't think wifies would do that to parrot, especially considering we saw the guards at paragon deal with parrot trying to escape so we know he had ways to deal with that, but it's a free country, hc whatever you want!!

as for your second hc, that's pretty much canon! i think parrot is repressing all memories he has of wifies and either will start genuinely not remembering them soon and having memory issues or already has started

Mayhaps.. i did start off feeling like wifies wouldnt do that but like the more i thought about it, the prison was made to be impossible to escape and with the mwny other things that wifies threatened to do, clipping parrot’s wings didnt seem extremely big

The way wifies changed it did seem like yeah ofc wifies cared about him a LOT but at the same time he’d do everything in his power to keep parrot safe even if it meant limiting his flight in that sense..

Im prolly over analyzing this but it kinda jus makes sense, cuz i do remember seeing a hc that parrot hurt his wings from falling too many times while flying but honestly he doesnt seem like he’d slip up like that very much and i kinda like having a reason to why some things dont happen like why didnt parrot fly out of the paragon.

(obviously, cuz he didnt have an elytra) but put into the sense of like..how i personally see him, it kinda feels like thats the only thing that woukd really make complete sense

Talking about this actually made me think, Parrot has been in prison’s before the paragon.. for example, proton.. what if it wasnt wifies yk what if it was the guards in proton who did it and wifies just didnt really do anything abt it when putting parrot in the paragon??? idk the hc might change a bit the more i think abt it now lmao

i mean idk i view wifies in a very specific way n i tend to get kinda defensive about it cuz i see people mischaracterise him a lot.. this is nowhere near the worst i've seen and it honestly doesn't bother me much

he did threaten to hurt parrot's friends, but never to hurt parrot himself. tho i guess clipping his wings wouldn't hurt, per se, but it would probably psychologically damage him, i mean imagine someone cut your hair that you put a lot of effort into without your consent. except it's worse cuz wings have more purposes than just looking pretty

i mean, in the episode itself at one point parrot tried building out of paragon and the guards hit him off his pillar and splashed him with slowfalling, while they had elytras and rockets, so i'd assume they could do something similar to stop him from flying out (especially since i assume elytras + fireworks are faster than wings)

he has in fact been in other prisons and i was going to bring that up in my original post but i forgot lmao. that'd make more sense but also feathers grow back, birds have to get their wings clipped periodically, so i'm not sure how well that'd work unless they did something to his wings to prevent the feathers from growing back??? if so that's messed up as hell btw

another option is parrot was never able to fly in the first place, for example his wings being too small or weak to, or some other reason, but that does limit the hc if you wanted to have the arc of him being able to fly and then losing the ability

Im not sure if there is but depending on the amount of time between like.. when parrot was put into proton and then when he was put into the paragon in the context that his wings were clipped in proton instead of paragon, like only a few months between the two the feathers probably wouldnt be grown back completely?

though yeah it does kinda make sense saying clipping his wings would psychologically damage him but also threatening to kill his friends would also hurt too.. Even being trapped there would hurt parrot too, though wifies did think it was “for the better” i feel like he may think the same preventing him from leaving in every way possible. If he thinks that trapping parrot in a prison or threatening to kill his friends was like..the better thing to do, i dont think that preventing parrot from flying would be like a major problem to wifies(?)

I do think parrot having wings that can still let him actually fly would be a major advantage for him though. Since even tho theres guards that have fireworks and elytras if he just did the same things to escape and got trapped with wifies he couldve just flown out before the place actually blew up, even with the spyglass, assuming that he could go similar speed to an elytra

Lowkey tho if its kindaa mischaracterization thats like the one thing that i DONT wanna do……………….

i mean idk this is all just my interpretation, i think everyone's allowed to view the characters in their own way. if you think it's in character, then that's just as valid as my opinion. and even if it was mischaracterisation, it's still a fun concept to play around with anyways ^^
