Defector? I barely even know 'or
date idea i get sent to a hallucination in my final moments as i frantically look for you to bring me back to reality
My house dot wad
I like to think of myself as fairly aware of the hardships of being trans, and I try to be a good ally for my trans friends, but specifically on tumblr I see the spent casings of entirely different set of battles. It concerns me greatly and I only understand maybe a quarter of it.
The blender
Long dead tailor lover of the grim reaper, the only trace of their existence left are the robes adorned by death herself, their masterpiece the final grace witnessed by those who have reached their end for the rest of eternity.
I love this text post so I drew it
I should start using "killing myself" in day to day conversation so that when I do actually kill myself nobody can tell if my final message was sincere or not. I think that'd be funny

Grok write me a prompt for claude code to make me an awesome video game that will earn lots of money and be super popular
I think that when you're overstimulated you should appear kind of grayed out and no one should be able to interact with you like a locked character in a video game
I've always thought it's too bad that disco is the only kind of dance that comes with an artifact. It's compelling that disco has a Ball. I want to know what secrets will be revealed if I gaze into it. There should be a hip-hop Cube. A ballroom Amulet. A swing Diadem.
really bothers me when i hear young people adopt the same kind of terminology that youtubers use as codewords to get around sensitive subject autodetection.
Is there a quicker way to summarize the sentiment of "the thing you're criticizing is wrong and bad in so many ways but you're choosing the criticism that's the most ambiguous and subject to debate and I low-key think that it's a result of propaganda pushed by what you're trying to criticize bc those points are easier to contest or "disprove" when you could be picking something SO much more glaringly and undebatably horrible about the thing that we're not talking about right now bc you keep talking about the thing that's hardest to prove"
Cuz this is how I feel about AI water usage
Like water usage became THE face of the "anti-AI for environmental reasons" criticism.
But.... Water usage in these kinds of contexts is stupidly difficult to track, and you have confounding factors both directions.
First off: is the water clean? Drinkable? Is it made undrinkable by its "use"? In many cases, yes. In many other cases, no. If a data center is getting water from an environment, slightly warming it up, and putting it back into the environment clean, but warm, it's still a negative environmental impact. But it's a much different story than clean water being polluted beyond recovery. This is already an analysis that happens with power generation all the time: what does it mean for a power plant to "use", for example, seawater that it's spitting back into the ocean?
But now let's look at the other direction, and build on that last point, even. How DO you track water used for power generation? Cuz data centers need a fuckton of power- are you accounting for all of that extra water used in power generation? Who is estimating that number? It is VERY difficult to track- each data center has a different power mix with different water usages.
And are you accounting for the land? How valuable the water is in a particular spot? Water matters a lot more in the Southwest than it does in the east.
But here I am. Having this debate. Telling you this back and forth. We're on "debatable" ground. Like yeah, if you tally all the water use, it's excessive. Yeah, it's a negative impact. But there's debate. There's fudging. There's wiggle room.
And there's also MASSIVE elephants in the room.
Semiconductor and rare earth metal usage. MASSIVE power demands, which are usually being met with fossil fuels, pumping carbon into the atmosphere. Local scale pollutants. Land destruction.
There is no fudging those numbers and those experiences of the people around these data centers. There's no "oh it's difficult to get an exact number" or "well what do you mean by USE that material?" we KNOW their power consumptions and the mass of the materials they're using.
So why are we talking about water? The thing where there is wiggle room?
I don't like to be conspiracy brained but water being the face of "antiAI environmentalism" feels like it benefits these companies.
Idk. This is a very half baked rant, and def a crackpot thing. If you disagree with me then I totally get it, if you think I'm wrong I totally get it. I'm on your side here.
I'm convinced The Local is one of, if not THE best deal for food in the entire city of Toronto. CA$23 or so for:
Your (usually gigantic) main
A normal restaurant's twenty buck dessert
Soup of the day plus some bread to go with it
An iced tea which I have not tried
And it's GREAT food. It's not Richmond Station or anything, but for the price, you may as well be getting the best meal of your life. Plus, they change menus pretty regularly so it's hard to get tired of the food.
Alas... It is open for three hours each day.
