A face like thunder - a face that looks very angry
Come out/up smelling like a rose - to have success or good fortune in a situation in which one was likely to fail, be harmed, etc.
Drop like flies - to become ill or die over a short period of time and in large numbers
Go over/down like a lead balloon - to fail completely to impress or amuse other people
Grow like a weed - to grow very quickly
Have a memory/mind like a sieve - to have a very bad memory
Laugh like a drain - to laugh very hard
Like a drowned rat - used to describe a person who is very wet and miserable
Like a lamb to the slaughter - in a very innocent way; without knowing that something bad will happen
Like death warmed over/up - very tired or sick
Like pulling teeth - used to say that something is very difficult and frustrating
Like the cat that got the cream - used to say that someone looks very proud or satisfied about something he or she has done
Out like a light - asleep; unconscious
Read (someone) like a book - to easily understand the true thoughts and feelings of (someone) by looking at how that person acts or behaves
Work like a charm - to work very well
