My very first traditional woodcut attempt! I sadly sabotaged myself by using wood which started to tear & chip apart randomly (especially bad at the back of the body). As well not taking the printing process well🫠 But despite that it was a lot of fun & looking forward to trying it again very soon!

In the 12th century, Hildegard von Bingen created Lingua Ignota, an "unknown language" written in an alphabet of her own invention. It was not meant for common speech, but for naming realities that exist beyond the ordinary world.
