BURY ME NOW FOR I HAVE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN
I need to sleep but I missed pencils so much so I thought I’d share. I made so much digital art lately - and I’ll make more, for this blog too. There are other more explicit sketches but they’re for later. This one came out really pretty.
Completely unrelated to each other but here are some twitter Viktors I might as well upload here :OO
(bottom is Viktor doing Lambiel’s “Don’t Stop the Music” program as practice)

SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE THIS TO ME
Yuuri can’t sleep.
He hasn’t been able to sleep since he arrived, seven days ago. He’d blame it on the time difference, or the elevation change, or any number of other normal things that cause normal people to lose sleep. Really, though, it’s because he can’t get the finality of his signature, black ink on paper and iris scan for verification, out of his head; he can’t get past the memory of Viktor Nikiforov’s firm handshake and world-famous smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
The marriage is a good political move, one where Yuuri’s job is to leave his country, be a good consort, make Viktor happy and stay out of the way. Organize charity events and pose for pictures with underprivileged children.
Yuuri can’t sleep, and he dismisses the rustling noises coming from outside as paranoia until something hits the window with a loud crack. He jumps, eyes darting from the window to the door.
Not everyone in Viktor’s homeland is happy that he’s marrying some foreign nobody who barely speaks the language and isn’t even good-looking. They’ve been warned about possible assassination attempts, despite the tight security at the palace and the surrounding grounds. Yuuri’s heart beats a little faster.
Another crack, and this time he sees that it’s a small rock that impacts the bulletproof glass and bounces back to the ground.
(Would an assassin target him with rocks?)

Mermay Day 3!
This time, a pastel mer young Viktor! Since his scales are almost white with a very light pink gradient, they shine beautifully!
there’s a stranger at yuuri’s bus ride home.
he has striking silver hair that reflects sunlight in a way that would probably be blinding for anyone whose view isn’t obstructed by a pair of thick glasses. likewise, he is full of laughter and smile, and his bubbly personality would probably be off-putting for some people. not for yuuri, though.
yuuri finds him endearing. yuuri also finds the dog with the sad eyes who sits patiently tucked in the crook of the stranger’s arms endearing, if a little shy. the stranger gets off at a stop after his, and whenever yuuri reaches his stop the stranger’s gaze always follows him and his dog is always asleep.
there’s a stranger at yuuri’s bus ride home.
to tell the truth, there are roughly thirty strangers at yuuri’s bus ride home during weekdays, and exactly 1 (one) familiar person. the guy he knows is nakamura-san from 3-5 back in high school, who thought yuuri was a stuck-up for enrolling to a university in detroit when they were eighteen, and who still thinks yuuri is a stuck-up now, so yuuri kind of pointedly ignores him and hopes he doesn’t ever look at yuuri’s direction.
the stranger, though, the silver-haired stranger with the smile shaped like a heart, yuuri wishes he looks at his direction. yuuri considers starting a conversation, maybe finds an excuse to pet the dog and coo over how adorable it is, but stops himself short and opts to stare at the back of his head like some kind of creep instead.
yuuri can’t shake the feeling that he has to put an end to the stranger’s wistful gaze everytime he leaves the bus off, so he tells himself: tomorrow i will talk to him.
and most days, tomorrow never comes.
but today, there’s a stranger at yuuri’s bus ride home who’s not quite a stranger anymore after yuuri walks up at him and says, “hello, um, can i pet him? sorry if this is impolite, i know we don’t know each other, and um–”
“no, no, please, he likes you,” the stranger visibly brightens and all but shoves his dog at yuuri. “i mean, he generally likes people, so, uh. anyway! yuuchan, say hi to the nice man,”
the dog barks eagerly and wiggles in yuuri’s arms before settling down and licking yuuri’s palm. yuuri scratches him behind his ears before. “that’s strange. my friends used to call me that,” yuuri offers a smile and his name to the stranger. “i’m yuuri,”
“hi, yuuri. i’m viktor,” says the stranger. there’s something in his expression that makes him look expectant, but whatever it is, it’s disappeared when a beat has passed and yuuri only nods in return.
“where are you headed?” asks viktor.
“just going home after work,” yuuri shrugs. “what about you?”
“i was looking for my husband, actually,” viktor confesses. “he told me to meet him at a hot springs resort here, so i’ve been going there every day, but i think he might have forgotten about that,”
yuuri frowns. “but the resorts have been closed for years,” he remembers his parents, the last of the survivors, packing their things to move nearer to the centre of the prefecture and starting anew when he was eight and mari was fifteen.
viktor’s voice sounds strained when it comes out. “really, now,” he sighs. “i did not know that,”
“but maybe there are new ones being built! i don’t know, i haven’t been to that part of town for years,” yuuri quickly backtracks, not wanting to upset viktor. it’s bad enough that this man, apparently a foreigner judging by his appearance, hasn’t met his husband for what seems like a long time. yuuri doesn’t want to tell him that his husband was probably lying to him, too.
“i don’t know, really,” says viktor. “it’s like i’m the only one who remembers him,”
the bus slows down as it nears yuuri’s stop, and he hands yuuchan back to victor. the dog whines at the loss of contact. his sad eyes won’t leave yuuri. “i have to go. good luck! i hope your husband remembers to contact you!”
yuuri squeezes viktor’s arm briefly before rushing to the door. viktor, as always, follows yuuri’s path before he disappears from sight, blinking back tears. “yeah, i hope he does,”
Yuuri: Viktor, would you like to stay for dinner?
Yuuri’s mom: WOULD YA LIKE TO STAY FOREVER
Y’all are focused on Hiroko, but:
Mari knew. She knew.
why does this look like a meme
Por la cara 🌹💃
victor just wants to be alone sometimes. just wants the space because he needs it, because he needs—something. but like, nothing. there’s this huge nothing-ness in his chest that flares up, always unpredictable, expands like a balloon aspiring to achieve the next level of space and volume still unknown to physics. and the only effective way he’s learned how to deal with it is to let the nothing wash over him like a wave. let it fill up his head with white noise and let it sneak into his dreams at night and make them all fuzzy and foggy and make the world around him disappear, slowly, slowly.
taking a break today, he’ll text yakov.
vitya…, yakov will reply, and victor will hold his breath and wait for his coach to force him out anyway, pull at him with nagging words the way most people think is the best way to get him to come back. but it never comes, and instead yakov will add some rubbish about how yuri or georgi will come after his number one spot real fast and real soon, if he doesn’t take care of himself and come back real fast and real soon—which is really just yakov-speak for “you’ve got a family here waiting for you when you need it. when you want it. when you’re ready.”
fast forward to now. fast forward to yuuri. fast forward to:
victor waits for the nothing-ness to come. waits for it to threaten to pull him back while he’s been trying so hard to push forward, but it doesn’t come for a long time. it doesn’t come for so long that he thinks it might not come anymore, at all.
but it does (of course). it aches (as always). he texts yakov (yet again).
he pets at makkachin’s head, slips her into her leash before throwing on his fuzziest socks and thickest boots and softest, warmest coat. he’s got a special walking route that helps calm him down best. he’s got a lot of routines he’s developed over the years to try and cope. to try and deal with the nothing-ness in a way that it will feel like the most Nothing.
he opens a text to yuuri: solnyshko i’ll be out for a bit, deletes it and rewrites: i’ll be out for awhile. don’t know how long, but that doesn’t sound right either. he walks and he types and he deletes and then his phone pings and vibrates in his hands, so fucking loud, gives him a goddamn heart attack.
my love >> ok. time 2 square up. this ends today. its GAMETIME [IMAGE ATTACHED] join me???
in the picture, yuuri’s pouting atop a pile of laundry; mismatched socks that they’ve been procrastinating on tidying for a good two weeks. victor’s already on his way.
yuuri knows, he thinks.
they fold the socks. victor’s in charge of the low-cut ones. yuuri throws them at him when he finds them in his pile. they don’t really talk, but they’ll look at each other and smile a bit, the way they’re always looking at each other and smiling a bit, and at one point yuuri makes the most frustrated noise because he’s been looking for the other pair of a sock for like ten straight minutes, this is not a fucking joke, victor, where the hell could it have gone, do you think makkachin ate it or something, i told you she’s not eating enough—
and victor is laughing. he laughs so hard he surprises himself. freakin’ surprises the nothing-ness sitting inside of him, too. yuuri’s looking at him with an open mouth, shocked, before breaking out into a wide grin.
“i’m here,” yuuri whispers later, exhales little sleep-warm breaths into victor’s ear. “when you need it. when you’re ready.”
yuuri knows, he thinks. that victor wants to be alone sometimes.
but sometimes, that means being alone even while he’s sharing the same space as yuuri. he doesn’t know if yuuri knows that. he tries to explain it. he can’t. his arms tighten around him. “what if i need you always?”
a soft giggle. “then, i’m here always, of course,” yuuri says, not unkindly, not like it should be obvious, but like a gentle reminder that he’ll make sure victor never forgets.
