My favorite thing about Stingy is that he learns from his mistakes without losing his natural sass. Like yes my boy understands how harmful his greed can be and overcomes it but it doesn't mean he'll go easy on you in other situations. Stingy can and will be savage if someone pisses him off or bores him. And yet, he cares deeply about his friends and can drop this attitude if he notices he's gone too far with it. Out of all Lazy Town kids, Stingy has the biggest amount of layers to him because of how imperfect he is. I think he's the one other characters argue with the most because Stingy can be very difficult due to his ego. He's a spoiled child who's used to everything being handed to him on a silver platter but I can don't think the word "selfish" actually applies to him. Stingy has this moral core within him that always shows itself when there's trouble. His friends are also very patient with him, which I think is another reason why Stingy is willing to change for the better. They love him for who he is, and he wants to reciprocate this love. It's one thing he's never reluctant to share.
