What is Offshore Delivery Center (ODC)
The Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) is increasing popularly as the global IT and software development market. ODC Services helps to improve efficiency and reduce a software development project's operating expenses. Offshore outsourcing from start-ups to big corporations, has turned out to be an important part of companies. The model of the Offshore Delivery Center is based on the same pattern of offshore outsourcing. It is a business engagement model involving dedicated people to work with the client and client's team complementing and increasing their bandwidth in terms of skills, experience, and resources. The ODC business model team operates in stable and independent settings at the service provider's site.
V2Soft has been providing mobile application development services focused on the Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) business model with an established track record.
CompanyTRAK: Social Distancing and Contact Tracing Technology, a Safe Way to Bring Employees Back to Work
Many states are opening up after the COVID-19 shutdown, companies are starting to get employees back to work, but with opening, there are rules around bringing employees back. CompanyTRAK launched a social distancing solution and contact tracing technology to bring workforce back to work in a safe environment.
As an example, Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, recently sent an order, Executive Order 2020-97, to all business owners in Michigan. Included in this order is the following:
Contact Tracing Technology and Social Distancing technology to bring employees back to a safe working environment.
Provide COVID-19 training to employees that covers, at a minimum:
1. Workplace infection-control practices
2. The proper use of personal protective equipment
3. Steps the employee must take to notify the business or operation of any symptoms of COVID-19 or a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19
4. How to report unsafe working conditions
The above includes a lot of work for both company and employee. Tools to help with these needs include:
Self-declaration – a set of questions or PPE needs required to be answered daily as employees enter the building
Contact Tracing – tracing contact of employees breaking the 6-foot proximity recommendation by CDC over a period of time
Social Distancing – ability to track and warn employees when approaching or breaking the 6-foot proximity of another employee.
Data Collection – collecting data on contacts, to determine which employees have symptoms or test positive, and a way to inform employees they are exposed and what to do.
"Adoption and evaluation of digital tools may expand reach and efficacy of contact tracers."
CompanyTRAK is the leading digital solution to help with Self-Declaration, Social Distancing, Contact Tracing and Data Collection. With patent-pending technology including mobile location services, Bluetooth tags and scanners, the solution traces employee interaction within a geofenced building. If an employee has contact within the CDC recommended 6-foot distance, that contact is logged. If employees self-reports as symptomatic or having tested positive, CompanyTRAK notifies an exposure risk to any employee that they have been in contact with over the last 14 days. This minimizes employee risk in the office or facility by understanding who is at risk, symptomatic, or is tested positive. The solution leverages a combination of proprietary mobile technology, web portal and Bluetooth tags to achieve this and be accurate.
"We built CompanyTRAK to help companies bring their employees back to work and provide a safe means of operating their business leveraging technology," said Varchasvi Shankar, President & CEO of CompanyTRAK.
CompanyTRAK includes a daily "Self-Declaration" with customizable questions, a PPE list and temperature input. This helps with understanding which employees are prepared for the day and which should return home or work in other areas.
Data is securely encrypted and available through our CT Portal. This portal enables assigned admins to set-up/geofence locations, manage users, run reports and send out broadcast messages. When an employee is exposed, self-reports as symptomatic or positive, the admin is provided a notification and views all contacts that employee has had since adopting the solution.
CompanyTRAK helps companies bring their employees back safely while meeting regulations now. It includes a mobile app, web portal, and Bluetooth tags and scanners to help quickly and efficiently.

As companies started to shut down due to the coronavirus, Varchasvi Shankar began working on the best and safest way to bring people back to offices and factories.
Through Sqwirrel LLC, a subsidiary of Shankar’s company, V2Soft – which he is the founder, president and CEO of – they created the patent-pending app, CompanyTRAK. “What it does is it helps in managing the primary exposure with employees within an organization,” Shankar said. “It’s very neat.” Since their founding in 1998, V2Soft, headquartered in Bloomfield Hills but with locations all over the world, has always been about more than just providing high performance IT solutions. “It’s a passion of mine to build software applications,” he said. “It’s a passion of mine to solve real world problems with technology solutions.” Other ways his company has been able to do just that have been through iConnectX.com, a patent-pending social fundraising platform for non-profits. But right now, the focus is on CompanyTRAK. How it works is employees can download the app through their company’s Enterprise App Stores, which Sqwirrel LLC distributes CompanyTRAK to. From there, companies are able to let their employees use the app from their corporate provided devices or personal devices. The app is not available via Apple or Google play stores. Once the app is downloaded, all employees need to do is download it and make sure it’s connected to bluetooth. The app will do the rest. “Say I’m in contact with 10 people in my office for meetings or walking by the hallway, it tracks the people in my company I’ve interacted with over the last 14 days,” said Shankar, who mentioned it only tracks those people have come within six feet of their device. If any employee becomes positive for the coronavirus, they are able to push a button in the app that activates an authorization code to make sure it wasn’t by accident. From there, CompanyTRAK will notify every other individual who has been exposed to that person in the last 14 days. A positive diagnosis notification can be sent out through a company’s human resources department or the app itself. Due to it's geofencing, CompanyTRAK only tracks people once inside the building where they work. Everything is kept confidential. They also consulted with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and legal experts. For employees without a cell phone or one that’s unable to download the app, Shanker has a solution for that too – bluetooth tags that they can carry around while at work. How have companies reacted to CompanyTRAK? Enthusiastically. “I think people are super excited. They all want to do the pilot,” Shankar said. “Any time we tell someone we have something like this they ask if they can use it.” Originally, though, this wasn’t the app the team had planned on releasing. That was ViralTRAK, which they were hoping to have available via the Apple and Google play stores. According to Shankar, those two play stores have policies that no longer allow coronavirus apps to be released to the public unless it comes directly from a government agency. But there is hope the app might be able to reach the public. Shankar said they have already sent it to Governor Whitmer, and would like ViralTRAK to be free for all Michiganders, if released. “I’m sure she has so many other, bigger battles,” he laughed. “At some point, if they come back to us, I would love to release it to the public.”

CompanyTRAK Launches Enterprise Solution, a Contact Tracing, Social Distancing Solution
Sqwirrel LLC, a Michigan company, has developed patent-pending technology utilizing a combination of enterprise mobile apps, with Bluetooth tags and scanners to bring employees back to their workplace called "CompanyTRAK". The contact tracing technology provides a safe way to get employees back to work, keep them mindful of social distancing and alert them to possible risks of exposure from symptomatic, positive tested and exposed employees. CompanyTRAK helps HR and internal health professionals manage exposure to COVID within their company and to isolate all exposed individuals.
CompanyTRAK follows employee interaction with other employees from the time they enter the building using Geofencing technology. "We first announced our public solution, ViralTRAK in April," according to Varchasvi Shankar, President & CEO of CompanyTRAK, "where I was able to give an in-depth overview of the public app in a featured segment on WXYZ Channel 7, an ABC local affiliate. If any of the members test positive, they simply press a button in the app. All the app members who have been in the CDC recommended safety distance in the past 14-days of that member who tested positive would be notified of possible exposure."
CompanyTRAK uses a proprietary, advanced location services model plus technology add-ons without collecting any personal information. The solution identifies which employees have been within the CDC recommended parameters of the self-reported symptomatic or positive tested employees over a 14-day period. It identifies primary and secondary exposure, which is unique to CompanyTRAK. The Admin Portal helps company HR and other authorized personnel to manage employees with daily PPE and temperature checks that employees need to follow.
The social distancing solution went from ideation to fully functional in just a few weeks, utilizing our existing technology framework and platform solutions. We are working to develop additional use cases to help companies get back to work and keep their employees safe.
"Using CompanyTRAK contact tracing technology helps employees feel safe and maintains the current social distancing rules. We are working on ways to bring this to other industries including hospitals and schools," said Ray Drzala, Marketing Director. "We are learning more about increasing government requirements and company needs as we continue with conversations about our solution."
CompanyTRAK is currently being tested at multiple sites and available on Apple and Android Enterprise App Stores for corporations. "This solution can help us get back a little closer to normal and aid significantly in business continuity to identify exposed employees within companies," said Varchasvi Shankar, President & CEO. You can find more information CompanyTRAK.

Cloud Testing Deep Dive
Testing to a cloud will employ both traditional and new age methods to perform testing. Testing and cloud are equally large domains in their own path. Let's learn how to view both together in the below sections.
#1) Cloud Testing Forms
Cloud Testing can be broadly divided into four different categories based on what they aim to do:
Testing of the whole cloud: The cloud is viewed as a whole entity based on its features and testing is carried out based on that.
Testing within a cloud: This is the testing that is carried out inside the cloud by checking each of its internal features
Testing across the clouds: Based on the specifications, here the testing is carried out on the different types of clouds-like public, private and hybrid clouds.
SaaS testing in cloud: Functional and non-functional testing is performed based on requirements.
#2) Cloud Testing Environments
There are 3 types of Best Cloud Testing Environments:
A private or public environment where the quality of applications deployed in them needs to be validated.
A hybrid environment, where the quality of applications deployed in them needs to be validated.
A cloud-based test environment, where the quality of applications deployed in the cloud needs to be validated.
#3) Types of Testing Performed in The Cloud
Testing in a cloud computing must not only ensure that the functional requirements are met, but a strong emphasis needs to be laid on non-functional testing as well. Let's take a look at the different kinds of testing that are performed.
Functional Testing:
Functional Testing must be performed to make sure that the offering provides the services that the user is paying for. Functional tests ensure that the business requirements are being met.
Some of the functional tests are described below:
System Verification Testing: This ensures whether the various modules function correctly with one another, thus making sure that their behavior is as expected.
Acceptance Testing: Here the cloud-based solution is handed over to the users to make sure it meets their expectations.
Interoperability Testing: Any application must have the flexibility to work without any issues not only on different platforms, but it must also work seamlessly when moving from cloud infrastructure to another.
Non-Functional Testing:
Non-functional tests mainly focus on a web application-based tests ensuring that they meet the desired requirements.
Here are a few forms of non-functional tests discussed below:
#1) Availability Testing: The cloud supervisor/vendor has to make sure that the cloud is available round the clock. As there could be many mission-critical activities going on, the administrator has to make sure that there is no adverse impact to the consumers
#2) Multi-Tenancy Testing: Here, multiple users use a cloud offering. Testing must be performed to ensure that there is sufficient security and access control of the data when multiple users are using a single instance.
#3) Performance Testing: Verification of the response time needs to be done to ensure that everything is intact even when there is a lot of requests to be satisfied. The network latency is also one of the critical factors to evaluate performance.
Also, workload balancing needs to be done when there is a reduction in load, by decommissioning resources. Thus, load and stress testing are done in the cloud offering to make sure applications are performing optimally with an increase/decrease in load and stress.
#4) Security Testing: As everything is available anytime with Cloud, it is essential to make sure that all user sensitive information has no unauthorized access and the privacy of users remains intact. When maintaining the applications in the cloud, user data integrity must also be verified.
#5) Disaster Recovery Testing: As already stated in availability testing, the cloud has to be available at all times and if there are any kind of failures like network outages, breakdown due to extreme load, system failures, etc, measure how fast the failure is indicated and if any data loss occurs during this period.
#6) Scalability Testing: Test to make sure that offering can provide scale up or scale down facilities as per the need.

Benefits of Cloud Testing
Cloud Testing refers to the testing of resources such as hardware, software, etc. that are available on demand. Even the testing here can be viewed “as a service”. For cloud offerings, it is essential to make sure that the service (product) not only meets its functional requirements but also the non-functional requirements. With a range of applications in the cloud, it is now becoming essential to develop the Cloud Testing strategy. Cloud Testing is a Software Testing type that checks Cloud Computing services. Cloud computing is an internet-based platform that renders various computing services like hardware, software, and other computer-related services remotely.

Benefits of Cloud Testing
The need for cloud testing is easily visible with the benefits that we derive from it, which are far too many. Below we have attempted to discuss the most apparent benefits which explain why Cloud is the need of the hour:
1. Dynamic availability of testing environment: The normal testing approach in any organization is to invest in the hardware/software infrastructure required for testing. Almost, many of you will agree that the environment supplied to the testing teams very rarely match a customer environment on account of rapidly changing requirements, as a result of which it is very challenging for the companies to keep it up. Cloud is the only answer to this problem whereby, users can easily replicate a customer environment and find defects early in the cycle.
2. Low cost: Another angle to the previous point is that when companies invest in the infrastructure, the usual cause of it is many of their servers are not utilized all the time. As a result, they may have to incur additional expenses on license renewal. Transitioning to the cloud helps in this scenario as well, as users can commission appliances as and when they want, thereby saving huge costs for an organization.

3. Easily customizable: With the use of cloud, it is an easy task for organizations to emulate an end-user centric environment by customizing it as per the usage thereby, saving cost and time. Test teams can easily perform load and performance testing scenarios in various permutations and combinations like – different OSes, browsers, configurations, etc.
4. Scalability: This is one of the most attractive features of the cloud whereby the computing resources can be increased or decreased wherever it is necessary. This is widely used in situations where the business requirements keep altering frequently.

Challenges in Cloud Testing
Data Security and Privacy
Cloud applications being a multi-tenant in nature, risk of data theft is always remain. As a cloud testing strategy, users should be given an assurance about the safety of their data by suppliers.
Short notice period
Cloud providers give a short notice period of (1-2 weeks) to the existing customers about upgrades. This is a big problem when manually validating the changes to your SaaS application.

Validating interface compatibility
With an upgrade in Cloud service provider, at times the external interface is also upgraded which is a challenge for some subscribers who are used to the older interface. Cloud (SaaS) subscribers need to ensure that the users can choose the interface version they wanted to work.
Data Migration
Data migration from one Cloud provider to another is a huge challenge as both providers may have different database schemas and it requires a lot of effort to understand the data fields, relationships and how are they mapped across SaaS application.
Enterprise Application Integration
Enterprise application integration requires data integration validation of both outbound and inbound data, from client network to SaaS application and vice versa. Data privacy calls for a thorough validation to ensure SaaS subscribers about the security and privacy of data.
Simulating live upgrade testing
Cloud testing's biggest challenge is to ensure that live upgrades do not impact the existing connected SaaS users.

Cloud testing is a software testing using cloud computing technology, which means using resources found in the cloud. Resources may be any hardware, software, and infrastructure necessary to carry out the tests. Easy access to the cloud environment helps organizations approach software testing as an easily scalable, on-demand service. Over the last decades, traditional software testing incurs a high cost to simulate user activity from multiple locations. Most applications were running on client/server architecture, and data was tightly coupled with applications in client/server architecture. Then the World Wide Web came along with N-tier application architecture where developers could create flexible and reusable applications. By segregating an application into tiers, developers acquired the option of modifying or adding a specific layer, instead of reworking the entire application. Technology innovation has further provided web access to people on the go via laptops and mobile devices.
Cloud-Testing Life Cycle
The clod-testing life cycle includes the following activities. Test Manager/Project manager/Test leader plays the role of Test admin. Test admin creates the test scenarios and designs test cases. Based on the scenarios and test cases, automated test script will be generated either by test admin or professional tester. Once a cloud service provider is available to test admin, he creates the user to give access to testers. Cloud-service provider set-up the infrastructure. Test users/Testers use the credentials to log in to the portal and can use all the assets available. The Cloud testing process starts here. Testers perform the testing. After completion of the process, cloud testing providers deliver the result.
Testing firewalls and load balancers involve the expenditure on hardware, software, and maintenance. In the case of applications where the rate of increase in some users is unpredictable or there is variation in deployment environment depending on client requirements, cloud testing is more effective.
Software testing has also undergone a long-drawn evolution cycle. From ad-hoc practices within different business units, it gradually evolved into a centralized Managed Test Center approach. However, the testing paradigm has changed and there are major challenges that need to be overcome, such as infrastructure availability, complexity, and increasing costs. Traditional application testing has its limitations as well, like latency, performance, concurrency, planning, and extremely expensive execution costs.

As technology innovation continues to make software available on various platforms and devices, software quality assurance has also caught up with the latest digital trends with its innovation. Cloud testing is a game-changer and surpasses the challenges faced with traditional testing. Setting up the cloud testing service is very straight forward for any organization: develop user scenarios, design test cases, select cloud services provider, set up infrastructure, leverage cloud servers, start testing, monitor testing goals and deliver results.
Types of Testing Supported:
Stress: Stress Test is used to determine ability of application to maintain a certain level of effectiveness beyond breaking point. It is essential for any application to work even under excessive stress and maintain stability. assures this by creating peak loads using simulators. But the cost of creating such scenarios is enormous. Instead of investing capital in building on-premises testing environments, cloud testing offers an affordable and scalable alternative.
Load: Load testing of an application involves creation of heavy user traffic and measuring its response. There is also a need to tune the performance of any application to meet certain standards. A number of tools are available for this purpose.
Performance: Testing performance under a particular workload is necessary. By using cloud testing, it is easy to create such environment and vary the nature of traffic on-demand. This effectively reduces cost and time by simulating thousands of geographically targeted users.
Functional: Functional testing of both internet and non-internet applications can be performed using cloud testing. The process of verification against specifications or system requirements is carried out in the cloud instead of on-site software testing.
Compatibility: Using cloud environment, instances of different operating systems can be created on demand, making compatibility testing effortless.
Browser performance: Testing in various versions of browsers can be performed in cloud.
Latency: Cloud testing is utilized to measure the latency between the action and the corresponding response for any application after deploying it on cloud.
Strong points of cloud-based software testing:
The testing environment is dynamic and readily available. The on-demand nature of cloud-based testing is a big draw for organizations who need fast turnaround time and do not mind self-service. Most cloud testing applications work using a subscription model, so any user with a browser can register and start testing immediately.
The services are secure and affordable. Testing can be performed in either public, private or hybrid clouds. The public cloud is the most cost-efficient choice, and an acceptable level of security is maintained. For a mix of cost-effectiveness and top-tier security, many organizations opt for testing in hybrid cloud.
Elastic scalability. Cloud-based testing allows you to ramp up and ramp down as your needs change or your project goals shift.
It allows for simple disaster recovery. In the cloud, recovery of any assets is quick and easy, not laborious or complex.
Cost-effective on the whole. Working via the cloud lowers costs associated with server maintenance and engineer labor.
Software Testing Futures for 2020
The field of software testing is undergoing continuous evolution. With the ongoing developments in technology, software testing experts have come up with the latest trends for the software testing industry.
In the field of software testing, the year 2020 will witness a shift from performance testing to performance engineering. Cloud-based tools make it feasible for teams spread across different locations to easily collaborate. Testers can easily test from different locations and access test reports from anywhere in the world without the pain of uploading and downloading them.
Cloud-based tools bring in the benefits of virtualization. They enable companies to make optimal use of their resources with the result that testing is more flexible and efficient.
