Last season of Euphoria really is so ugly and reflective of American society and rising conservatism rn. Nothing but shitty Bible propaganda, rampant anti-blackness, exploitation and humiliation of women and the abuse of sex workers shown to the audience for lurid thrills, one of the lesbian leads dead and another (the trans one) trapped in an outlandish D/s sugar baby relationship tormented and making art and chasing male approval….we live in HELL. It’s so obvious how much this season was injected with stupid ass misogynistic ass homophobic/transphobic ass fantasies and I HATE it.

I'm tired of people calling Nate a "bully" when he was an ABUSER, he wasn't a normal guy at all, but for some reason the stupid writer changed his whole personality in this season and he becomes pathetic and i'm tired of people using the excuse of "well, he's an adult now, he can't do the same things he did in high school, this is the real world" again, he was an abuser and he had serious problems that probably can't be fixed without therapy.

Can we please stop saying things like “Nat ruined Travis’ life with drugs” and was “always getting him to relapse.”

Travis is showing signs of addictive, compulsive coping in the wilderness, often when he is emotionally separated from Nat entirely. His struggles are rooted in trauma, grief, survivor’s guilt, repression, and unbearable emotional pain. Nat’s addiction is born from the same place. They are two traumatized addicts who absolutely feed into each other’s unhealthy patterns, but mutually.

Nat says they both tried to keep each other clean. And when Lottie asks her what happened when Nat and Travis last saw each other, she says, “What always happens,” implying there is a repeating cycle of relapsing together whenever they are around each other for too long. Taissa refers to their relationship as a “trainwreck,” says Nat and Travis are “the worst for each other,” and implies that she has had to “drag” Nat out of “that toxic shit” multiple times. It’s a mutually toxic relationship, and that’s what makes it interesting!

Nat and Travis are both addicts. They feed into each other’s addictions, obsessions, and unhealthy coping mechanisms in an extremely codependent, mutually destructive way. Travis has his own destructive patterns and his own part to play in the toxicity of his and Nat’s relationship. He is not living healthy and innocent until Nat comes into his life and wrecks it all. Framing addiction and relapse as something Nat imposed onto Travis misunderstands both their dynamic and addiction itself.

i love how the lottie-natalie-travis dynamic in season two could’ve been the usual overdone love triangle but the writers decided to make it so much deeper than that. nat stares out the window at lottie and travis in jealousy not because she suspects something romantic is going on between them, but because she longs to be able to comfort travis in the way lottie can. travis imagines lottie while having sex with nat not because he wishes he was being intimate with her instead, but because he’s struggling between faith and pragmatism. and while it looks like lottie wants to drive a wedge between travis and nat as she and nat almost battle for travis’s soul, it seems more like she wants both of them to be on the wilderness’s ’good side’ so they’ll be protected

thinking about a s2 role reversal jackie and shauna. jackie who has to be the new butcher after shauna freezes. jackie who has to spend hours in the meat shed trying to cut the meat right, but no matter how hard she tries the rations come out sloppy and uneven. jackie who may or may not be pregnant because of travis. lottie who ‘knows’ she is and treats her as such.

jackie who can’t bear to look at shauna’s corpse, even while saying goodbye. jackie who fully disassociates during the feast to the point where, like tai, she doesn’t remember it the next day. jackie who, after learning what they’ve done, shoves her fingers down her throat to throw up before her nausea can do it for her. jackie who refuses to let anyone else wear shauna’s flannels. jackie who reads and rereads shauna’s journal obsessively, needing to find answers in a girl who now only exists as a bag of bones.

laura lee “haunts the narrative” way more actively and honestly, convincingly than jackie but jackieshauna is a bigger ship than lottielee, and jackie shows up as a “ghost” more often, so no one gaf. sure, lottie still would be schizophrenic, but laura lee planted the seed that she is a prophet with a greater purpose by baptising her. lottie already had ideas, and laura lee solidified them. would we have gotten Father Lottie Matthews if we didn’t have True Believer Laura Lee…

laura lee you’ll always be famous to me i hope season 4 does something so fierce with your character because your potential is unmatched.
