being gay is such a weird experience bc one gay kiss you see on tv when you're like 14 is now permanently embedded into your memory, dialogue and all, and you treasure that memory and hold it close to you
and then you watch a movie where one of the characters is in unrequited gay love with the main character who's straight and you have to pretend that your stomach hurts and stop watching to go cry without telling your family
and u watch the imitation game and you don't know why because you're too young but it scares you and terrifies you because what if you're like him, what was so wrong about him, why did people hate him
and then you watch the music video for take me to church because all your friends like the song and it scares you and confuses you and makes you feel like maybe those people might hate you too
and you find out your cousin is gay and married but no one ever told you about her because they're ashamed and you know all your cousins, you love your cousins but you never knew about her
and then you find other people like you and they ship characters and they're gay and you feel like maybe it's a little scary but more fun and good and it feels right
and you come out to your best friend and she comes out to you and you laugh and make gay jokes and you think maybe that it's not so bad because other people are like this too
and gay marriage gets legalized across your country and that's good but you dont wanna get married and you're kinda shocked it took this long anyway
and you get older and older and make new memories that you can file under "gay" and some of them are good and some are scary and others you still dont understand but you're not ashamed, just maybe scared, because you like being gay and you dont think it's bad but other people don't agree and you dont know how to deal with that. bc ur gay. and u love people. and you won't ever understand why other ppl don't.
and you're still gay but now almost all your friends are gay too and you've come out to some of those cousins and you write gay stories and you learn gay history and you think maybe it'll be okay. you're still gay. but maybe it'll be okay.

Hey can we queers please remember that the rural queer experience has unique challenges thanks
Coming out is different when you know if you come out to one person you risk the whole town knowing. Coming out is different when religion is entwined in your entire community. Being queer is different when you can't trust that your doctor or therapist will stay confidential. Being queer is different when conversion therapy is subtle and normalized. Transitioning is different when there aren't gender clinics or gender therapists for 50 miles. School is different when other kids are put at risk by being seen with you. Can we stop acting like there aren't queer people living in rural areas and start supporting them
we aim for transcendence or at least to get up off the floor
there are three types of music queer people are drawn to and bears in trees encompasses all of them

I am against all misinformation except the conspiracy theory that Queen Elizabeth II is already dead and they're covering it up because it's extremely funny
Growing up with your starters

The captions are also really cute, although they mostly describe what’s in each photo:
Bulbasaur: Somehow, nomming on my clothes… has become a weird habit of theirs.
Venusaur: That hasn’t changed now that they’ve grown, but they’re very gentle.
Charmander: It’s my first attempt, but I made a plushie so that he wouldn’t get lonely.
Charizard: That plushie seems to be his favorite even now.
Squirtle: Squirtle’s a bit timid and hides behind me at the smallest things.
Blastoise: Looks like they’re scared of the first Pichu they’ve seen. You’re not really hiding!

This is adorable
They just posted some more!

And some more!
You forgot these!!!
I’m disappointed that these were left out
SO MANY GOOD ONES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
If I ever don’t reblog this, kill me
one of my favorite tropes is when your group of main characters has been split up for questioning and they’re all answering the same questions in a neatly-spliced montage
my favorite trope is when the stories blatantly and hilariously conflict
bonus points if each interview is wildly unhelpful/off topic but in a manner that is in character for each person
