So, if you think about it, canonverse voltron Christmas will be sad.
They’ll all be missing Christmas on earth. Lance’s and Hunk’s families and Pidge’s mom would have to spend the holidays with the news that their kids are missing, feared dead, even. And it will be worse for Mrs. Holt because she already lost her husband and eldest son and now she thinks she’s lost her youngest baby too. Shiro’s family would be spending their first (or maybe second) Christmas still thinking Shiro is dead if the Garrison chose to keep his crash landing top secret. And they’d be having Christmas dinner (or how ever they celebrate it in Japanese culture) with Shiro’s picture on a frame with a black ribbon on it. I don’t know about Keith since he’s an orphan, but I dont think anyone would want to spend Christmas fighting in an intergalactic war. I don’t they all would. And in space, Allura and Coran would have no idea why the Paladins are suddenly so sad, staring longingly into the stars while they’re all cuddled up together. And the silence would be broken by Lance with a single, hushed, and almost tearful: “Merry Christmas, everyone.” They’re just kids. Please let them come home. Okay. I’m sad now.
