Hearing her words, Maggie grew even more uncomfortable. So Elsa found herself another act. Judging by all the seeping blood through the sheet she had wrapped around herself — they were already putting her to good use. What did they do to her, treat her like a pin cushion? Put her up on Elsa’s wheel and spin it around while they had themselves a good old time and tossed knives? She couldn’t have even been there for that long yet here she was, while Maggie was given the task of taking care of her. Maggie pushed out a smile herself, small and flimsy as it was. ❝Oh, your welcome.❞
She didn’t exactly know how to act, so her smile continued sitting on her face until she went to work figuring out exactly what she was going to do. The bottle of alcohol was set on the nearest available surface, the box on her lap slid down onto the bed beside her. Opening it up revealed rags and strips of elastic bandages. Maggie took a deep breath as she looked over everything, putting her thoughts into order. ❝I’ll be right back. I have to go get a basin and fill it up. So I can wash your wounds.❞ Small palms were smoothed down her sides as she rose, a brief glance flicked backwards before she strode out the door.
Madalena could tell that the poor girl was mortified, and the fact that she bothered to try and hide it emitted a small smile. Upon coming here and showing miss Elsa her talents, she least expected that she would end up as one of her acts. It wasn’t so bad-- it was better than spending her nights out in some bar, getting plastered and waiting for someone to take her home. Before Maggie could leave, though, the Spanish woman gently reached out and grabbed her wrist, noticing the rapid thrumming of her pulse.
“Clearly, a few of these are going to need stitches.” She let go of her then as to not frighten her, fingers gliding against porcelain skin as her arm fell back to her side. “Don’t worry. I will take care of those as soon as the bleeding slows. I told Miss Elsa that I didn’t really need assistance-- I’m sorry that she sent you to deal with it.” Smiling apologetically, dark eyes fell shut for a moment as the blood loss continued to make her head spin. They opened again to watch Maggie leave, moving to light a cigarette as she did.
