This blog is (s)low activity permanently. This isn’t bc I don’t want to write w/ you. It’s bc my replies tend to get long and that takes a lot of my energy to get through. Sometimes I also get interested in other things and disappear. I can take up to a month to reply sometimes simply bc the energy is not there. You can poke me about the status of threads but please be considerate.

Don’t be afraid to add context to asks. Not only are you more than welcome to do it, I fully encourage it. Sometimes seeing only a line of dialogue can make it hard to answer asks. Same w/ symbol memes. Seeing context can go a long way and shortens the time taken to respond to the ask.

What’s your greatest source of inspiration when it comes to role playing?

I was gonna say music, the source material etc. but tbh I think it’s talking w/ others. Hearing how they see their character and what they think about them helps a lot in constructing responses to asks / replies and getting interactions going in general.

Do you listen to music when you write? If yes, what kind of music?

Ye, I actually can’t write in silence. I used to pop the C.uphe.ad OST on every now and then while writing bc it’s does Wonders to get the creative juices flowing. Nowadays tho I just put my main playlist on Sp.otify on shuffle and w/e comes on, comes on.

When she was alive, it was rare to see Wakana not drinking an energy drink. Even if she wasn’t holding one, she more than likely had one in her bag instead. It was far from a healthy habit and it showed in how she could just Sleep through the day or be v groggy and not her usual upbeat self if she didn’t drink one. Even after dying, she still maintains the habit of carrying one around w/ her tho she drinks them way less, usually for nostalgia’s sake and nothing more.

Wakana isn’t fighting-orientated so during her Game she boosted her partner for the most part instead. Her pin deck consists of both attack and stats boosting pins and altho she can hold her own decently, she’s definitely better as a support type. It hasn’t changed much since she’s won her Game.

Music of the Woods: Toss a bomb at the target. Fully charge it to knock the enemy back. Chance of confusing the enemy. Unevolved pin dropped by Noise.

Topo the Talented: Launch up to 8 rockets at your target. Lock on to multiple foes by changing targets while charging. Enemies will be knocked back on impact. Unevolved pin dropped by Noise.

The Woolly Jazz Player: Send a powerful sound wave barreling toward your target. Hold the button to generate a momentary ring of sound waves that send the enemy flying. Unevolved pin bought from Shepherd House in West Bus Terminal for ¥12,990.

Headliner: Hold the button to greatly boost the damage your team deals to enemies. Unevolved pin dropped by rival Player.

Maiden Beat: Hold the button to boost your Groove. Unevolved pin dropped by rival Player.

TtT and TWJZ also have the Groove boost II ability and Maiden Beat is literally said boost pin form. Headliner boosts the attack even further including the one resulted from the Groove meter. She can be a pivotal team member. Now, getting her to be part of a pair / team again as a Reaper... Yeah, good luck w/ that.

I mentioned how she obtains them as well since her Mute Latent Ability requires her to break her pins in order to use it. The order in which she breaks them is funnily enough the one I listed above, starting w/ the ones she can obtain from Noise, the one she has to pay for and lastly the ones obtained from defeating other Players. TWJP is a pretty powerful pin which is why it’s not the first to go despite being easier to replace since she just has to buy it. Headliner and Maiden Beat can assist her partner / other people she’s teamed up w/ more since they most likely have more powerful pins than she does so they go last usually.

Other than her pin deck, she also has two cat Noise she’s trained since she became a Reaper. They also deal Sound-affinity damage and have the peculiar ability of producing grating noises once per fight when hit that disrupt attacks.

REMIND // TO JOG ONE’S MEMORY AND REMIND WHAT’S BEEN FORGOTTEN

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY HE’S MADE THIS DECISION. That’s what he keeps telling himself. He knows that he’s passed the point of no return once he declared that he chooses to remain behind and become a Reaper. Some part of him hoped that against all odds, he wouldn’t be given enough reason for such a drastic decision, but the world seemed to just laugh at him instead, pushing him towards it with every jab, every comment, every look. And now here he is, strange appendages attached to his back.

Now there’s no going back. Again, he plays the words in his mind. It would be a lie to say that he can’t feel the doubt creep in, that the what ifs don’t bounce through his mind until they collide and give him a headache. Now there’s no going back. And he intends to keep it that way even if he’s given the choice to change it. Anything is better than continuing to put a front and act as if everything is okay, taking the brunt of the remarks thrown his way without saying anything.

“ I just got here, c’mon, don’t tell me you want me gone already. That hurts, man. ” a joking response that comes as naturally as breathing despite the heaviness that hangs in his posture. Getting adjusted to the Reaper life won’t be easy, but it can’t be worse than the three weeks he’s been through since finding out about the UG and the Game it hosts so often. Besides, it’s not like he’s not going to have any help whatsoever. Kariya and Uzuki are there and he’s sure that Shiba would lend a hand too if he were to ask.

( All over again it hits him that this is his life, that he’ll never be able to talk to the others ever again. It’s fine, it’s fine, it’s fine. He’s made this decision and he’ll see it through. )

Raised eyebrow, he gives the blond a curious look. “ ... why are you still hanging around? ” he’d have guessed that Shiba would be the first one to start heading back. So why is he lingering around? Is there something else? “ Just spit it out. I’ve had enough of riddles to last me a lifetime. ”

HE MAY BE SCATTERBRAINED AT TIMES, BUT SHE’S SEEN HOW SERIOUS HE CAN BE WHEN HE PUTS HIS MIND TO IT. So she contemplates her words for a moment, the usual mischievous glint in her uncovered eye replaced by a serious look instead. He can keep a secret, that’s not what she’s worried about, and she’s not even obligated to tell him the whole truth, but he’s the only one around she can count on.

So she takes a deep breath in as if mentally preparing herself before opening her mouth. “ Can you pretty please with a cherry on top take a look at a few speakers? The sound quality has been off and... ” cue an exaggerated pout “ maybe straighten them if they are askew. ” she’s made sure that that wouldn’t be the case and even got a second opinion, but it’s been a while and she’s fiddled with some of them since then. They shouldn’t be, but it’s better to make sure of it than hope it’s true.

A wry smile as she reaches up to move long strands of hair out of her face thus uncovering her other eye, a shade brighter. “ Can’t really see out of this eye so it makes things kiiiiiiiinda awkward, ya know? ” it took an embarrassing amount of time to realize that the decorations in her studio looked like they had been thrown about haphazardly. Luckily, not many drop by and if they do, they probably thought it was on purpose.

Maybe she shouldn’t drop equipment maintenance on him as a mission, but it’s been long overdue and, besides, it’s a win-win situation. She gets it fixed up ( and if not, she’ll know to replace the broken stuff ) and he gets an easy mission. And he looks like he could really use the ability to get around quickly.

“ If you check for the ones here in the crossing as well as by the West Bus Terminal, it’ll cut my work down considerably. ” then, with a wink “ And don’t forget!! You gotta keep the secret, okay~? ” she’s not worried that he could use the information against her should they end up fighting for whatever reason. She knows better than to engage in combat by herself.

Wakana has a Latent Ability called Mute that allows her to destroy her pins in exchange for a temporary full enemy team debuff that disables pins. Bc y’know. Destroying her Sound pins / muting her music. Even the speakers blasting music stop for the duration of the debuff. Yeah, that leaves her down to five pins ( or less ) afterward so it’s a Risky thing to do and having to buy the pins again can become Expensive, but that’s miles better than dying for good.

This was supposed to be a Funny thought, why am I attached already™, but basically this started from me wondering what if the UG had a DJ during the Games bc weird enough stuff has happened, this is pretty tame by comparison.

So enter Wakana Shirai, scene name Wakka and yes as in the sound Pacman makes, still haven’t figured how she died or if it was even in Shibuya and she didn’t just drift around until she got stuck there bc Shibuya is a hot mess and the center of everything happening I GUESS. She mounted the speakers all over the place herself bc she wanted to make sure that she got everything to her liking.

You can make requests, but you’ll have to bribe her 90% of the time to actually get something you want in the playlist. Unless it’s a song she also likes then you’ll still have to bribe her, but it’ll be considerably easier. Definitely not against playing meme songs and the likes, especially on slow days.

Pin deck consists exclusively of Sound pins bc I like staying on the theme such as Music of the Woods, Topo the Talented, The Woolly Jazz Player, Headliner and Maiden Beat

IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, EVERYTHING IS A GAME; PAWNS AND FIELD DISPOSABLE COMMODITIES IN HIGH QUANTITIES. There’s no shortage of them, of people who have their code rearranged to be able to take part in the Reapers’ Game or of places in which such can happen without a hitch. Even with the negative remains of his own ward in mind, a vivid memory that he feels nothing at the thought of, it will be no time before things will be able to resume there. The Shinjuku Reapers making their way back there are going to make sure they get things up and running once more.

Strand of hair twirled between fingers is noted with faint curiosity, neutral yet pleasant expression shifting ever so slightly at Joshua’s last comment. Interesting. Yes, their ‘little game’ has certainly seen some unexpected twists and turns. Or were they? A similar series of Games has been played exactly three years ago. Did the other predict that things will follow an identical pattern and wanted to test that? Sounds like something he’d do. No wonder he entertained the idea of their game.

“ A draw isn’t the most exciting result, wouldn’t you say? ” another set of Players, but the same playing field again though he guesses that it can’t be helped, Shibuya tends to be the center of attention after its purification failed. Besides, Shinjuku is still being rebuild and it’s not like they can intrude on another ward for their game.

Unflinching, Hazuki stares right back into those eyes studying him. “ So let us play again when the time comes. Same rules set, hmm? ” though unpredictability is accounted for, Players tend to not act accordingly, especially under pressure, as the events from the last week of their game has shown. Irrational. A plague of sorts that infects the mind and makes one act not like their normal self. It makes something crawl uncomfortably beneath the skin.
