although i may make a more formal post about this in the future, i think it's important to acknowledge the effect warren's perception of good and evil, and even his ego had on him during his days as the archangel. he often viewed the world through a very black and white lens, as in you're either entirely good, or entirely evil. his belief that a person's moral character or actions aren't as complex as a person themselves is one of the reasons he struggled so greatly after apocalypse experimented on him. for years, he believed himself to be gabriel, the archangel serving as god's messenger. he believed himself to be entirely good which is why when he was brought back to life by apocalypse, he referred to his new wings as an entirely sentient being. warren didn't want to acknowledge that this new darkness was and will forever be apart of him because he doesn't want to admit that even an angel can fall from grace.
