The worst part about "everything now" is that when Mia asked her therapist if he knew what her first thought was after her friend died of anorexia, is that I knew the answer before she said it. I knew it instantly. Because thats how fucked up an ED brain is, and even if youve been in recovery for a long time, the way your mind works doesnt really change. The first thing you think when you see someone lose weight is that they are winning, and being hospitalized or worse means you're the best at it. There's a certain pride that comes with having control that you have to fight against everyday, and to learn in that second of a tv show how strong it is hurt me.
So if you ever encouter anything remotly close to pro anorexia content or if youre strugling with body image, seek help inmedietly. Because once your perception gets fucked up, it stays that way forever.
