My office is 3 songs far from my flat.

The way back sometimes goes up to 6. My coaching center, when I was in college, used to be 15 songs away from home. And when I am anxious, I could walk for about 30 songs inside my room.

I have nothing against distance with kilometers, but I have put myself in an unhealthy relationship between movement and sound. I say unhealthy because there are days when things have to be silent and still.

I have to do my chores without jazz, put on my shoes without blues, and bike to the office without a beat. Friends sit me down and say, "Listen, things are not as bad as they seem."

But I can't listen, so I can't move, or the other way around; I do not know.
