Thank the gods I read the PJO books when I was twelve and barely remember anything besides the major plot points so I don’t have to care about any changes in the show since I can’t recall what happened anyway lmao
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY (2022 - 2025) 3.11 — "At Last"
clocked his ass
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY 3.10 "Last Year" || Belly finally writes Conrad back
Bonus: Conrad keeping her postcard in his wallet!
We were so close to getting Sassy-In-A-Car-Conrad back.
One of the big issues with Bonrad’s relationship the first time around was Conrad’s inability to show weakness around Belly and allow her to help him (his hero complex). It’s the reason why she freaks out at the funeral. Belly see Conrad accepting help from another girl and it feels like betrayal bc she wanted to help him so much and he never let her.
“I would have been there for you through everything.”
He even admitted to this last episode and we see him trying to change that. He tells her he got fired. He allowed her to see a more vulnerable unsure side of himself and she didn’t balk. She was able to make him laugh and reassure that he doesn’t need to be perfect.
The reason the tub scene is such a HUGE deal is Conrad actually lets Belly help him. Like yes maybe Conrad could have done that by himself but she wanted to help. She wanted to be there for him and unlike the past he actually lets her.
Sinners is what happens when directors are allowed to experiment with the genres like a horror musical that puts you in a trance and makes you question your existence while also being campy and funny but also breathtakingly beautiful but also haunting and terrifying? Yes please I literally did not want to leave the theater I wanted to just stay there and keep watching it over and over
I can't get over how Sinners is such a rich text on assimilation and whiteness and the dangers of "civility" and music as a way to look both forward and back
And it's also a phenomenal vampire movie where a lot of hot people get covered in blood and there's a B plot about eating out girls
Art in the Age of Digital Puritanism (2022) by Iness Rychlik The artist reposted it in 2024 "because it feels relevant in social media today".
nothing sexier than that picture with the italian players on top of eachother after the win and the english ones going through the 5 stages of grief in the back
