a petite silhouette was overburdened by a coat that reached her ankles, the hem finishing just above her gold stilettos. granted, the summer heat radiating off the ground replaced the sun perfectly at this hour; the moon in crescent form, right above the bus stop chi had just arrived to. another shift at the lounge done. despite the intense warmness she was feeling, she was ever so thankful for the AM breeze for drying tiny beads of sweat down her immaculate painted face. sculpted brows, highlighted features, rouge on her cheeks, a red glossy lip, this was something chi hoped no one in town would ever see, much like the dress she hid under the oversize coat. so it was much to her dismay to see that a familiar face stood beside her, also waiting. many questions crossed her mind at the same pace her heart pounded, yet all she could ponder on was how she couldn’t use the makeup wipes deep inside her bag anytime soon.
a small “hey.” left her lips.
but come on chi, you can do better. she actually looked at them, this time, with a closed smile.
“beautiful night, isn’t it ?”
