#GEORGERUSSELL : "I'd like to introduce you to a future world champion"
Has anyone ever thought that George is Niki's last Mercedes legacy?
people go on and on about loving the idea of devotion to the point of consumption and how love will swallow you whole and turn you into something that is equally starved and also wholly satisfied. but when I, charles marc herve perceval leclerc,
one part of me is like oh maybe george's fiat is breaking down as a sacrifice for monaco. the other part of me is staring at those tiny shorts as i so often am—

As the number 1 Esteban historian, would you say George Russell and Esteban are seen together much? To me they seem like they could be such good foils, for lack of a better term; the similarities in their upbringings with respect to how much their families depended on their success, but with Esteban being very close to his dad while George’s relationship with his dad is fraught, being products of the Mercedes driver academy, etc. idk to me they could be the duo ever
i think they are not really seen together much, no, but their dynamic goes super hard. not just the fact with their families and fathers, but also how toto treated them both, and how he drops drivers once he finds a new "golden boy".
and then, of course, sakhir 2020. when toto decided to call up george instead of este, and it was an awful race for george bc merc fumbled, while este got his first f1 podium.
and ofc este never holding a grudge over it all; he has said george's time will come in 2020, he spoke up how it would be insane if he ended up with no seat on the grid.
how este won hungary, and toto only called him three days later to congratulate him, while george got a questionable podium in spa 21 (since it was quali positions and no race happened) and toto celebrated it insanely, while both of them were still merc associated drivers in other teams.
when este got george for secret santa, he got him a drum with a brazilian flag, since george won his first ever gp there.
george has said in the past he would have liked to be teammates with este (2019).
i think when it was announced lewis was leaving and este was no longer going to drive for alpine, we had a perfect opportunity for this lineup. sadly toto hates sexy things.
at least we have this video <3

Charles Leclerc is the type of girl you see on instagram who posts a carousel of her fuckass toxic evil boyfriend and says 'happy eight year anniversary babe 💕💕💕 there are ups and downs but we always come back stronger ❤️' and the 'ups and downs' she's talking about is him robbing and setting fire to a gas station. but like her fuckass toxic evil boyfriend is Formula One Team Scuderia HP Ferrari.

sometimes all of the hullabaloo and “unnecessary anger” comments about George throwing his headrest out of his car in Canada 2026 tick me off because people really don’t seem to know how much George was labeled an angry demon kid on track in karting who threatened to lap people and crash into them. George has consciously worked on his anger management and that should be recognized. exhibits A, B, and C (take with a grain of salt of course):
he has WORKED to be a calm and graceful person who is polite no matter what. he immediately learned from and apologized for the Bottas incident in ‘21, even though that’s used against him to this day, and has talked about how he tries to point the blame more at himself now than others as he used to. hell, he’s also said 1000x that his whiny and angry radio moments (another point used to drag him) are because of the heat of the moment and he has defended other drivers reacting the same. the metaphor of bringing a microphone to your worst day at work makes total sense to me and is something he’s used to explain those moments.
and so this is why also, while I completely understand why people would want him to, I don’t always love comments about how George should “be more evil” or angry or mean. guys, he absolutely can be. but he’s really worked on that and tried for that to not be who he is. I really respect that. in a world where hot takes and lashings drive algorithms, and a sport where aggressiveness is often praised and heavily associated with how “masculine” a driver is or not, it’s a different path to try to be an emotionally regulated and professional person. I think this lends to the “PR Russell” allegations and that he is fake, but I don’t think working on yourself should be construed as “fake”. and a lack of anger in a man doesn’t make him less of one or less of a good athlete.
yes we want him to advocate for himself, on and off track, don’t get me wrong- where ruthlessness and competition may be necessary. I believe George can do that. he’s obviously shown that. but this self-improvement is actually one of the things I like about him the most tbh. it takes a lot of courage to identify how you can improve and try to be that person. not enough people do that honestly. I like to see and admire George trying. so often we tell ourselves that the way we hurt others and ourselves is just “who we are” and something we can’t change. maybe sometimes it isn’t. but shouldn’t we try to treat others well? doesn’t mean George doesn’t fail at this. but I’d rather him try than not

george's recent caption on insta... the galex of it all... george has a wonderful girlfriend who'd seemed like some sort of fortuitous accident when he first met her. a chink of light amidst the darkness. a rare blessing from god. luck is a heresy only for the devout, george thinks. so he believes, in some sense of the word, in luck. 'lucky in something' and ofc its mocking his team but also. he's never been lucky when it came to alex. when it truly mattered, anyway. it was always bad timing, one of them spurned by god, or the other, or both of them at once, in joint commiseration. but he remembers meeting alex, as a child, the genesis, of it all (he recalls amorphously, from the christian teachings of his primary school). not luck, in any definition of the word, but an inevitability. it was always going to play out this way, and he was always going to be powerless to rewrite the doctrine. it was always going to end with the both of them, inconsolable. yet he remembers a hand finding his in the dark. how he wasn't alone within it. its blind safety, the warmth of another, which'd felt, not like fortune, but relief, a momentary reprieve. how asinine it would be to have the sun and yearn for the very darkness which had preceded it, george thinks. how perverse. how icarus would have fought to be in his place. and yet they are cut from the same cloth, both doomed to pine eternally after something which may never be. but george laments aloud what could've been, in canada, and lets his girlfriend hold him and comfort him, albeit inadequately, futilely. everything, he thinks privately, has become an inadequacy, since alex, his biggest misfortune to date, his eternal damnation. he falls asleep to the gentle mercy of her hands stroking his hair and dreams of darkness
