NEW EARLY INFO: Early Plot Outline of The Dress & Nicole's Scrapped Tumblr Blog
So a few days ago, in the show's wiki server a user found obscure images lying around on the wiki of an early plot outline of The Dress. Another user shed info on them, revealing them to be from a 2011 panel studying the show's cross media promotion. Unfortunately, the video of it is now deleted, but they recalled a very interesting piece of trivia that was revealed during it.
Early Plot Outline of The Dress:
This early plot outline for The Dress was seemingly from a much earlier point in development, as Tina is unnamed, Darwin is (seemingly) still the class pet, and he still has his later scrapped trait of having a poor memory.
Unfortunately the ending of Act 2 is a little difficult to read, but most of the outline is still legible. Major changes are as follows:
Richard originally burnt Gumball's clothes instead of shrinking them.
Gumball originally attempted to go to school naked instead of agreeing immediately to wear the dress. Nicole then stopped him and forced him to wear it.
Gumball originally pretended to be his long-lost cousin "Gertrude" instead of an exchange student called "GumballOops EggWobbleUnderpants."
Instead of the scene in Miss Simian's classroom, there would have been a scene on the playground of "Gertrude" defending Darwin from Tina and her goons, who were bullying people, which makes Darwin fall in love with her even more. Tina is referred to as "T-Rex," presumably having not been named at the time the outline was written.
Instead of the montage showing Gumball eating lunch and being carried to the end of the school track, it would have shown him skipping gym class, wearing make-up, and gossiping with the other girls about which boy was the most attractive.
Darwin originally asks for Richard's permission to take Gumball out on a date. This is presumably because he was still the class pet at the time the plot outline was written.
Darwin's later scrapped character trait of having a poor memory like real goldfish causes him to forget Gertrude's" "death".
The episode ends with Nicole pulling up to the school and pulling the now naked Gumball into the car, telling him that "no son of hers goes to school naked!".
Scrapped Nicole Tumblr Blog:
So, a chunk of you may know about Richard's Twitter, Anais' Flickr, and Gumball and Darwin's Elmore Stream shorts, with Nicole being the only family member not to receive anything. However, this wasn't originally supposed to be the case.
Nicole was originally supposed to have her own Tumblr blog about her therapy sessions, where she would vent about things stressing her out or angering her. An example post that was shown was the story of Richard buying a pricey eagle, and how it went wrong.
For unknown reasons, this blog was scrapped and never saw the light of day.
