this  is  an  independent  roleplay  blog  created  by  jordan  for  my  original  the  100  character,  valkyrie  sloane.  val  is  season  one  -  four  based,  with  season  five  interactions  being  available  on  request.  eventually,  i  will  have  overviews  of  val  through  all  the  seasons  up  as  i  continue  my  rewatch  of  the  show,  but,  even  though  i  only  have  overviews  of  season  one  and  two  up,  i  will  still  write  val  during  any  point  between  pre  -  series  and  the  first  half  of  season  five.  it’ll  take  me  some  time  to  get  the  overviews  up,  and  i  thank  you  for  your  patience  !

MADI GRIFFIN

it was nice having someone else around–having her family die in front of her and then waking to find that everyone in her village had perished as well, it was all so overwhelming. even though she didn’t know anyone, it would’ve been nice to have company upon surfacing to the world after such devastation. she was lucky to have found val and clarke. they were her new family. they took care of her and she learned new things every day with the stories that they told about their friends and their own lives. everything that she heard was new to her because of her lack of exposure to the outside. 

she had been locked up underneath the floor of her home ever since her birth, only knowing her mother and father. her mother would whisper soft stories to her to get her to sleep at night. her words were always soothing to her and now val and clarke had took that place. their words soft in a whisper , helping her drift off at night–and now another story voiced to her by val. it was comforting considering the nightmare she had moments before. a winged warrior woman? it didn’t sound real–but it definitely caught her attention. “ i–my…” she struggled to get out words to communicate, so she used her home language. “ chit ai tagon sei ? chit ai sontaim ? “ not that she wasn’t interested in hearing more about val’s story, just that she was intrigued to see if her own name had a tale behind it.

WHEN  VALKYRIE  AGREED  TO  BE  THE  SECOND  TEST  SUBJECT  FOR  THE  NIGHTBLOOD  SERUM  AFTER  CLARKE  HADN’T  PERISHED,     she  had  no  idea  that  that  decision  would  lead  to  this   —   to  her  and  clarke  being  the  last  two  people  on  the  face  of  the  earth.  that  is,  until  they  found  madi.  valkyrie  beams  at  her  now.  she  had  no  idea  that  she  could  love  someone  this  much.  she  pauses  at  madi’s  question,  thinking  for  a  moment.  her  parents  taught  her  a  lot  about  viking  culture  and  the  reign  of  odin  and  the  gods  of  old  norse  religion,  but  madi  isn’t  a  viking  name.  thankfully,  valkyrie  did  read  a  book  of  names  when  she  was  young,  obsessed  with  the  meanings  behind  them.  madi,  madi. . .     ❝   lovely.   ❞     she  remembers  suddenly  with  an  aha!  grin. 

she’s  not  sure  if  there’s  a  trigedasleng  word  for  lovely,  so  she  goes  on  to  explain  the  meaning  behind  it.     ❝   lovely  is  a  word  that  means  beautiful,  kind,  generous.  it’s  a  wonderful  name  for  you.   ❞     she  says,  booping  madi’s  nose  with  her  finger  once  more.  valkyrie  falls  silent  for  a  moment  as  her  golden  eyes  drift  out  the  window,  towards  the  stars.  she  was  supposed  to  be  up  there.  but  instead. . .  she  glances  back  at  madi,  smiling  softly  as  she  holds  her  a  little  closer.
