I haven’t seen anyone on here talk about her murder but maybe that’s because I don’t follow a lot of people. Regardless, I just don’t want her death to be erased or forgotten. There’s of course nothing that can be said to quantify the weight and gravity of her loss and I’m praying for her beloved family and friends.

Sanchez-McCray, a title holder in many pageants, was 42.

A group of Wikipedia editors have formed WikiProject AI Cleanup, “a collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly-written AI-generated content on Wikipedia.” The group’s goal is to protect one of the world’s largest repositories of information from the same kind of misleading AI-generated information that has plagued Google search results, books sold on Amazon, and academic journals. “A few of us had noticed the prevalence of unnatural writing that showed clear signs of being AI-generated, and we managed to replicate similar ‘styles’ using ChatGPT,” Ilyas Lebleu, a founding member of WikiProject AI Cleanup, told me in an email. “Discovering some common AI catchphrases allowed us to quickly spot some of the most egregious examples of generated articles, which we quickly wanted to formalize into an organized project to compile our findings and techniques.”

The other day, I asked my partner, “What are you doing?”

Simple question, right?

Except… he suddenly got defensive. His tone changed. I could feel tension building, and I had no idea why. So I took a breath and asked, “Wait, what did you hear me say?”

He paused, thought about it, and said, “I thought you meant ‘Why aren’t you doing anything?’ Like you were mad I was being lazy.”

But that wasn’t what I meant at all. I’d genuinely just been curious.

And that moment reminded me how easily things can go sideways when we assume intent. Our brains, especially when we’ve had messy pasts, trauma, or relationship anxiety, tend to fill in the blanks with the worst possible meaning.

But that one question, “What did you hear me say?”, turned what could’ve been an argument into understanding.

It gave both of us a chance to clarify before our brains made up a story that wasn’t true. I was able to explain, and he was able to listen. Understanding what I meant changed his tension entirely.

Sometimes the fight isn’t about what was said. It’s about what was heard.

“What did you hear me say?” can defuse a storm before it starts.

social media apps are rolling out ai age detection. do you think they want to go through the hassle of getting everyone to sign in with their correct ages? NO. they want you to upload photos of your face, and photos of your passport.

you know social media apps have the ability to send your data to third party companies, why would they not do it for this?

a world where kids’ information is easily accessible on the internet, even just the statement that they are under a certain age DOES NOT PROTECT THEM AT ALL.

they will have filtered access to recent news only. they will have no variety in their opinions. whatever the australian government provides them will be their only information to rely on.
