“Oh true. I keep on forgetting about the new laws. Is that weird?” Isa asked, scrunching up her nose ever so slightly at the thought. She couldn’t help but feel guilty for forgetting momentarily that she had lost her citizenship- something her family had worked so hard to obtain- the one thing that had kept them apart for so long in an attempt to give her a better life that she didn’t know was even possible to have anymore. But, for something so massive to have happened, her every day life seemed to pass by as if nothing changed. She still had the same job. The same friends. The same house. The same husband. The world had come crashing down around them. And yet it felt more like a distant bad dream than a current reality. “And in that case, sure! I’d love to go. If you’re sure you want to bring me?”

“It’s now weird, we don’t expect humans to know our laws. It’s your choice.” Elijah shrugged his shoulders. “It was a general offer to anyone in ear shot anyway.” he chuckled a little.

Watching as he dressed himself Gummy waited for him to finish before getting herself up and walking towards him. Letting her hands run over his shoulders to pat them down she pressed another kiss to his lips. “Much better. You look better in this.” 

“I always do for some reason. I have so many suits and less of the shirts you dislike.” He gave her a look then took hold of her hand. “Let’s go.”

“No, I’m okay.” Elena promised as a smile appeared on her face. “I’m mostly just tired from work and my family now being here.” She admitted, she shifted the books in her hands. “Trust me tho I know if I need to talk to someone I know I can hit you or Eliza up for anything. Just everything with my family has been a lot lately that’s all. I could really just use that drink.”

“A drink it is.” Elijah knew better than to get involved in everyone else’s shit so he just left the topic there, if she wanted to chat, she new she could.

“Oh, believe me…if I could, I would. But I can’t have a celebratory drink or an end of the day drink for another month or so.” After she had this baby, she was going to need a drink. That same like a horror story waiting to happen. “Unless you want to double up - drink one for you one for me,” she suggested. 

“Wh-” then he spotted the bump. “That’s why. Never mind.” Elijah nodded his head. “I will double up.”

He was all for blaming others for his mistakes, “I saw the culprit. He ran away screaming. You missed it.” He said, trying to keep a straight face.

“And you’re telling me this, why?” Elijah asked, looking up from his phone, he had only gone over to find out what the ruckus was all about.

Kate smirked and shrugged. “That could probably be debatable. I sired an assistant and then spend time grooming him to do my job…” she sighed heavily, stupid Patrick. “Working is the most pointless thing I ever do in my almost 500 years and that’s considering I est human food from time to time.”

Elijah laughed a little. “Then why are you here? Your little toy should be here instead.” he chuckled again at his clan leader. “You still have a sire bond, right? Use that.”

Elise had been scrolling through spotify on her phone, making a new workout playlist when she heard a voice. She pulled out her earbuds and furrowed her brows. “Isn’t that the vampire place?” she grimaced. “They serve blood in their drinks or some shit?”

“Yeah, that’s right. They also serve normal drinks too.” Elijah shrugged his shoulders, it wasn’t to everyone’s liking.

As much as she might have a knack for styling hair, Selasi couldn’t deny she looked forward to the second the day wrapped and she was able to head home. Not being exactly social meant she’d spend the night alone. She let out a soft laugh. “I prefer my drinks at home with my cat… which sounds depressing now that I say it out loud.”

“That does sound pretty depressing, but I’m not gonna force anyone to come with me. I just have a bit to celebrate.”

Rolling her eyes at him she shook her head at the second suit. “No.” She said before standing up and moving to his closet and pulling out a grey suit for him and handing it over. “Production is going well. There is not much development going on as we are developing for the next season.” 

Elijah rolled his eyes himself then took the grey suit from her and got changed into it while she was still talking. “That sounds about right. Good luck in the meetings.”
