“The rarity makes them even more impressive.” His eyebrows went up at her parting comment. “Glad I could help.” He called after her, amused, before he went back to his phone.

Nothing you could achieve, trust me. Not being a sociopath, for one.”

“With this face I don’t need money to have friends.” People clamored to be friends with the rich and attractive and Luca had almost always been both. “It’s a risk I’m willing to take.” At least she was providing interesting conversation so he hadn’t yet gone back to his phone. “Or proof that I’m not easily intimidated. Really? Try me.” He snorted. “Do I look like a sociopath?” It was less a snarky comment and more an honest question. The idea amused him.

Aalis had to admit, she wasn’t quite ready to head home for the night and this man was a much more viable option than the previous one. Plus, he was much easier on the eye. “Well you’ve got no objections from me,” she smiled before shaking his hand firmly, “I’m Aalis.”

“Glad to hear it.” She took his hand and he shook it, though threw in a light kiss to her knuckles and a wink, to be both cheeky and flirty. “A pleasure to meet you, Aalis.” Luca could be very charming when he wanted her to be. “What’s your drink of choice? Or are you more of a shots woman?”

“That does complicate things. I’m sure I could think of something.” Bridging the space between them Bia held out her hand for him, “Good for one favor.”

“Probably. You Tallises seem to be pretty resourceful.” She extended her hand and he shook it firmly. “One favour.” Once it was sealed with the handshake, he let her hand go. “Drinks to celebrate?” It pleased him to no end that one of the Tallises owed him an unspecific favour. He’d be sure to save it for something really good.

“Creative or not, its still pretty sick.” Kels sighed and gave the man a shrug. “Think what you like, but I don’t think that people’s lives shouldn’t be the means for someone to display ‘creativity’.”

“No argument there.” It was somewhat twisted, though that seemed to bother Luca less than it did most people. “Probably not, but there’s artists in every imaginable field. I just think we might as well give credit where it’s due even if the situation is tragic.” Trust a Tallis to be all goodie two shoes about lives. As a vampire, he tended to have a very different view.

“That’s too quiet, almost oppressively so. Let me guess, he was full of apologies and likely excuses?”

“We lived in less impressive times. Having all your teeth and being pockmark-free used to mean something. I’d say you’re also disease-free, but I don’t know that for sure.” Shaking her head, she pointed at his phone. “Tweens are the almost teenagers, aka the ones glued to their phones all the time.” Vampires always had to behave as if they’d won the coolness lottery. “You can be afraid and impressed at the same time. Besides, vampires are designed to kill me, but very occasionally they impress me. Once in a century or so.”

“Sure, but it’s always done well for me, then and now. You could always take me for a test drive and find out the fun way.” Luca smirked, cheeky as always. The vampire glanced at his phone when she pointed to it. “Here I thought everyone was glued to their phones these days.” He looked at her again and rolled his eyes. “I think I’ll pass on both. Oh yeah? And what does it take for a vampire to impress you? For curiosity’s sake.”

Aalis lifted her shoulders into a shrug when he mentioned that nothing he said really made sense. It was probably true but she could barely hear him through his slurred words. After she made sure that the sleezeball was gone, she turned her body to look at the man speaking properly. “Well I’ve managed to lose my friends I was with earlier so I don’t actually have set plans to be honest,” she laughed a little.

“No? Well, we should change that, shouldn’t we?” He smirked, and offered his hand. “I’m Luca.” She at least had the good sense to be annoyed by some drunk with terrible pick up lines and seemed interesting, for the moment. Maybe they could have some fun together.

“I usually prefer sarcastic, but that’s pretty accurate.” Luca shrugged. “Sue me for not being easily impressed.”

“So you should, it’d be entertaining either way. At least, for you.” Kiara dragged her tongue across her lips before biting back a smile. Taking his phone she gasped softly looking at his high score. “I can totally do that.” Sure she wasn’t as fast, but her accuracy was basically on point. If anything she’d be able to get near or match it. She plonked herself on a chair starting the game up.

“That’s the best kind of entertainment.” Luca didn’t try to hide the fact that he was rather selfish. Her gasp seemed to contradict her verbal confidence and he chuckled. “We’ll see, won’t we?” He waited for her to sit down and looked over her shoulder as she started the game. “Don’t let me make you nervous or anything.” That, of course, was his intention.
