thinking about end of 2023 when i would walk around my campus for work for hours and hours and listen to bruce springsteen and the trc audiobook over and over and over and over and over and over and just dream about a better life for myself. one time a guy yelled fag at me from his truck while i was doing this. now im finally out of that town and in a city. at a better college. i can’t believe i actually did got out and if i get stuck here im not sure what i would do. probably try to find the beauty as i do now. but mostly for now life is very beautiful and i am very grateful for the city and the love it has forced me to feel and explore. i cannot wait to explore more of it and lie to more people about my childhood to honor the old me <3 kidding…. Totally not. But. You know!

i know everyone and their mother has said this already but god the change of the symbolism of The Car from born to run as escapism and optimism to darkness/the river/nebraska the car as a prison……. tramps like us are born to run but then you end up racing in the street with no future, you’re driving a stolen car going nowhere, the used car as a symbolism of the failure of the american dream and inescapability of poverty………
