“I guess..we did already pay for ‘em and all--wait did we?”

“Let me—…” taking a swig, he shook his head. “Nope, no way.”

“Wha--I ordered apple juice!” The smaller girl pouted, still taking another sip anyway.

“Not—…not necessarily, Nilla.”

“Is this even apple juice..?”

“I dunno… My orange juice tastes funny too…”

“Really? That’s so weird..maybe we should order some soda instead.”

“What? I ordered apple juice--is it supposed to taste all weird like that though..?”

“Why? You have a beautiful face.”

“Well, I--Nooo, you’re crazy.”

“You don’t need to hide that…”

“Yessss, ‘course I do!”

“What? I like my glasses, they hide my face.”

“A sugar cookie!”

“Those aren’t pretty though..aw.”

“No, no, I’m fine.” He said with a smile, laughing lightly. “Didn’t sleep well s’all.”

“Why not?”

Hubert followed, wallet in tow as he watched the excited girl head towards the store.

Vanellope turned to the boy after a few more paces, pursing her lips with curiosity. “Somethin’ wrong Huey?”

“Of course you do, because you’re a smart cookie.”

“What kind of cookie, hm?”

“I know, silly.”

“Okay okay.” Vanellope giggled, heading towards the candy store excitedly with him.
