Here’s a little video of me throwing a cylinder on the wheel, which is the start of a mug. First you throw a cylinder, you let it dry to leather hard state, you make a handle, then you trim the cylinder, then you attach the handle, then you cover the newborn mug in plastic and let it dry veeery sloooowlyyy, then you fire it to bisque state, then you glaze it, then you fire it again so the glaze vitrifies, then you take it out of the kiln, then you sand the bottom and VOILA! Every piece is handled at least 20 different times during the process. From starting with a ball of fresh clay to holding a finished piece in your hands ready to use. • • • Ceramics is an exercise in patience and a labor of LOVE ❤️ • • • Peep my beautiful nails thanks to @audreyfaithbeauty from @fingerbangportland 💅🏽🌈✨ • • • #vaniavananinaceramics #manicureofanartist #artistnails #magicalhumans #vaniavananinastudio #throwingonthewheel (at Portland, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/B40ngnNhIuT/?igshid=t6jhmzqncl6k
