Going out was the one thing that kept Sam feeling like he wasn’t entirely losing it just yet. Friday nights had become something he was looking forward to now, considering he actually had a small job to fill his days, rather than sticking to his usual habits that usually involved one of two things - being threatened by people he should not pick a fight with or a reunion with some of the officers at the police station who knew him a little too well at this point. Neither of these options were his favorite and yet, he couldn’t bring himself to care enough to change, especially not when a full weekend was ahead of him. With a few drinks already buzzing through him and a lazy grin plastered on his features as he called out for his friend, who very conveniently also happened to be the bartender for the night, to pour him another shot, he barely noticed that he brushed against one of the chairs nearby, causing it to shift rather loudly. “Oh shit - fuck, sorry!” Samar scrambled when he realized he’d startled the girl and reached out to give her shoulder an apologetic squeeze. “Better look out where I’m going next time, huh? I didn’t mean to freak you out. You okay?”
Nessa was beginning to think she spent way too much time holed up making sure that her place looked incredibly perfect and pleasing to the eye--and in nature. SInce arriving in Redwood, she spent more time just wandering around, enjoying the sights and sounds and less interacting with people. Obviously, there shouldn’t be much surprise that she was startled by the noise, or by how loud and boisterous it got, but it dawned on her that she went into major hermit mode for her first month and it was definitely unlike her to do so.
Her eyes widened at the man that held onto her shoulder, but it seemed more apologetic and for once she didn’t have to push a hand off or sneer. “It’s all good,” She let out a rather relieved sigh. “Me? I’m quite alright, just getting used to being out and about again,” She shook her head. “You alright?” She asked curiously. “Perhaps some water might help?”
