I rather like that name for her.” “But Jaron, the ink. There’s a state dinner today. You cannot face the regents looking like that.” “Good, because I’d rather not meet with them at all. You’ll have to do it.”

Forty men were sleeping in here tonight, half of them snoring, which made it easier to do what we had to do.

After a quick stop at Tobias’s study, It was a simple matter to sneak another two flights up. Though, we had to be more cautious on the uppermost floor as we crept in the door to the soldiers’ quarters. “Listen carefully.” I said. “Even while someone is asleep, they can sense movement in a room, so go slow. Do not disturb the air.” “We aren’t waking them up?”

Excerpt #14: “It was supposed to be a joke. I put ink on Captain Roden’s finger when he fell asleep out in the courtyard. He woke up and rubbed his eyes, and by the time he went to give orders to his men, he had ink all over his face. He didn’t understand why until all the men were laughing at him.” I tried to make myself not smile, but that turned out to be impossible. “Does Roden know it was you?” “Yes. He’s going to speak with me about it tomorrow.” I stood.

That's not that bad, Jaron should do a prank with her to cheer her up. They can go scare Fink to death...

He said no castle would mean it could never hope to be blessed by the saints.” Storm glanced down. “Nor with me. I think the devils might be far too interesting.” I certainly understood that. “So. You climbed up here to the second level? What horrible thing did you do today?"
