What if Arion only has chronic pain in human form since his joints aren't used to supporting his weight upright? Since as a merman he's usually supported by either the buoyancy of the water, or he's lying down when on land and his weight is spread out evenly?

Yeah, this is exactly what I’ve been thinking!! I’m glad that I’m not the only one and that the idea makes sense :)? The only reason I’ve doubted the idea is because I didn’t want to make his disability superfluous or insensitive- I want it to be good rep for young people who use mobility aids in general! But I’ve done some research and I don’t think the idea of Arion using a cane as a human comes across as bad, hopefully, so I do think that’s what I’ll be sticking with :))

if anyone out there with the proper knowledge thinks otherwise please reach out and lmk, I’d like to do this properly with him <3
