Your "Concern" Regarding Fat People Has NOTHING To Do With Their Health - Stop Lying
For starters, it's not universally unhealthy to be fat. Some fat people are unhealthy, but more fat people are very healthy. Also, lots of thin people are unhealthy.
Second. You think fat people are fat because of lifestyle choices? Sure, some are, but most are fat because of their genetics and their lifestyle really isn't much different, if at all, from your average thin person's. And even if they are fat because of their lifestyle choices, I ask you this: Why the fuck does that matter to you?
See, the thing is, you can scream from the rooftops that "they're unhealthy" or "they're a drain on healthcare" or whatever the hell you want to use as your justification for hating fat people, but you're lying. Maybe you think you're telling the truth, but you're not.
Let's think critically about this for a second.
Do you think it's ok to bully a cancer patient because they're bald? Why not? Many if not most cancers could arguably be triggered by lifestyle choices. Smoking, processed foods, tanning, binge drinking, etc etc etc are all things that could trigger cancer. Why is it not ok to bully cancer patients for being a drain on the healthcare system, but it is ok to bully fat people even when they're in perfect health?
Right. Because your hatred of fat people has nothing to do with their health, and you actually do understand on some level that unhealthy people don't deserve to be bullied for their illness even if there might be a lifestyle correlation.
What are you really angry about when you rage against the "glorification of obesity"? Do you honestly believe that people are going to purposely try to get fatter because Lizzo loves her body? No, unless you're four years old, you understand that's not going to happen. So what is it?
How about this. You deny yourself certain foods that you want to eat, and you punish yourself with exercise you don't enjoy or don't feel like doing, and you agonize over how your clothes fit and what size you wear and you compare your smaller body to the bodies of bigger people and you have a sense of superiority and accomplishment over them, and it makes you absolutely crazy that people who are bigger than you are visibly enjoying their bodies without raking themselves over the coals to get smaller, and that threatens your sense of accomplishment.
Because, as it turns out, having a small body is not an accomplishment and you're not superior just because you happen to have one, and you HATE that fact.
Dude. Go out and accomplish something that's actually meaningful, and stop bullying fat people just to try to feel better about your mediocre self.
No I deny myself junk food and other foods I used to enjoy because I don't want to be the 279lb woman who couldn't get pregnant or even walk 100m without pain. My weight loss and improved health come hand in hand.
Don't you dare belittle my accomplishment at improving my health. Without weight loss I wouldn't be where I am now. That is why I will continue to advocate anti obesity. I don't want someone who is obese with health issues to give up and not try to get to a healthier weight and improve their overall health because of the demented thinking of the fat acceptance movement.
Also I'm sure even a metabolically healthy fat person will be in need of new knees a few years down the line. Our joints aren't built to sustainably support that level of weight for years on end. Physics is a bitch.
Obesity and cancer are not comparable. Cancer always requires decent Western medicine to treat and is a highly complex disease. Being obese just requires the individual to put the food down as they're eating more calories than their body needs. Also obesity is one of the biggest cancer risk factors.
