After many experiments, we've selected the final glazes for the 2016 Tiki Kon event mug! Standard edition on the left (100 mugs), Super Limited edition on the right (25 mugs). Head to Portland this July if you want to snap one up!
Mark you calendar, check your time zone, and set an alarm! The first 25 Pounder Mugs will be released tomorrow at 12 noon Hawaiian time! The VanTiki Pounder Mugs mirror the classic stylings of the ubiquitous tool of Polynesia: the poi pounder. Traditional poi pounders mashed taro root into the food staple poi - and the VanTiki Pounder Mug will muddle your senses by transporting 700ml (23.5 fluid ounces) of tasty beverage into your belly! The Pounder is 7.25" tall, and is limited to an edition of 100 castings. Don’t let the rounded bottom alarm you - like a Weeble, the Pounder will wobble but won’t fall down (or spill your beverage) 85$ for the brown basalt interior glaze, 90$ for the satin orange interior glaze.

Here’s the first peek at the 2016 VanTiki Pounder - A stoic Stone Idol carved from lava rock and designed to pound Poi and Rum in equal measure! The graceful shape is derived from Polynesian poi pounders - stone tools used to mash taro root into the starchy food staple poi. Like the ancient tool on which it is based, this mug fits the hand wonderfully. I plan on kicking off every year with a new Pounder design - and can’t wait to get this one molded!
Introducing The Stone Bowl. This is a tiki mug for two - in fact, as its name suggests, it’s really a bowl. VanTiki’s first official bowl! Beverage in the mouth and flaming garnish in the eyes. My favorite part? When not being used, The Stone Bowl hangs on the wall like an ancient temple guardian!

Mini Moby was born at midnight in the heart of the South Seas by the light of a full moon. He was a happy little fellow and loved swimming at night in the inky blue sea while peeking up at the twinkling stars - It wasn’t till he grew up and folks started sticking harpoons into him and his friends that Moby developed a bit of a nasty streak. Fresh bounty from the seas! The VanTiki Fishing fleet will be sailing into port this Saturday at 12 noon Hawaiian time - they have a net filled with OctoMugs (two different species: Violet Creeper and Deep-Sea Mint) and several ultra-rare Fisherman’s Falernum fishhook flasks! The OctoMugs will be available on the VanTiki website after they’ve been weighed in at the dock. The super limited edition of 10 Hooks will be available on Ebay.
