Things VaporClan taught me:
1. Do not rush to try to get an arc finished - this leads to burnout & hating that arc
2. Don't confirm important stuff outside of the story! This leads to not really caring when it's introduced later cause you've already told people about it
3. Never post pages after you're finished with them 😳 schedule and backlog is important as is taking mini hiatuses. You cannot keep up several pages a day - the fixation will wear off eventually
4. Smaller cast of characters! Try not to add more than you can handle or focus on several storylines at once, you'll get overwhelmed
5. Characters are allowed to be nuanced, don't make them flat or one dimensional due to fear of how your audience will perceive them
6. Do not post sketch pages for that quick dopamine - you will not want to actually draw the finished pages lol
7. ESPECIALLY Do Not Post like 120 sketch pages ahead. This is just too far ahead bruh
9. If you don't feel like drawing right now do not force yourself to draw. You will start hating your characters
10. Work on several stories at once! If you work on the same story you'll get burnout and start hating your characters. Give yourself several stories to bounce between so you don't get bored
11. Please stretch 😳 and rest. No 4-6 pages a day. What are you doing
12. Let people savor the story so they care about it stop Rushing ‼️ put the pen Down
Quality over quantity so they say
13. Please stop caring about how the audience perceives your characters and don't try to change their mind / engage in discourse. Not worth it. You'll start hating those characters 😵💫
14. Do not. Do not give your characters annoying designs. If you're drawing them and think "wow that was annoying" please remove some markings. This is the number 1 killer for favourite characters. You will start hating this character
15. NO IMPROV and GIVE YOUR STORY AN ENDING 😭😭😭😭😭
