“My birthday is today. Have you come to send your regards to me?… Thank you, I appreciate it a lot. Being away from home, especially today, has me a bit saddened. I do miss my parents and my brother, we’d usually… uh… eh… how do you say that word in English again?… My apologies! I’m still learning the language as I go in school… ah, right- it’s celebrate! We’d usually celebrate together as a family. You want my birthday wish?… well, I guess I’d like to see my family again, maybe they can come over for a vacation here! There’s plenty of places that Sayaka, Larissa and Natalie have shown me and I’d love to share it all with them. Perhaps that is a bit selfless as a wish due to feeling a bit homesick, but I have plenty more birthdays in the future to look forward to.”

Hey Heleniacs,

Here’s my rendition of Tatarkingdom/Varanus the Wizard’s Janett, in her restoration pose. This is a character who may ask, “would you love me if I was a worm?,” and it would be extremely literal. This has been a long time coming, but I’m glad I finally did it. One more trade/request, and I’ll probably be done for a while with those. Hey Heleniacs,

This one’s an original late UC Gundam design, along with the pilot, Liliana Fairchild. The name, “Traîtrise,” means “Treachery” in French, and is meant to be a reference to how Liliana finds her sister, Cecily, treacherous for returning to the side of the Crossbone Vanguard, a faction led by their birth father. It also is meant to play on the idea that others, including the Crossbone Vanguard and the Earth Federation, would find her treacherous for being against both sides. Her intention is to fight alongside the F91, Seabook Arno, and the Federation to take down the Vanguard, and then turn around and destroy the Federation from the inside.

In UC 0120, Liliana and a few ex-members of SNRI (Strategic Naval Research Institute), which manufactures Federation mobile suits in the late UC era, form a rogue faction called the LEF (Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité), and manufacture the Traîtrise two years later in December UC 0122. The name of the faction highlights their revolutionary spirit, and their vision for a new world free of hierarchy, corrupt governments, and coercion. Hope y’all dig 😎

Adult Transgender Legislative Risk Map, November 2024

This map is made and maintained by transgender journalist Erin Reed. She read all 550 bills targeting trans people in America in 2023 and 586 so far in 2024 and she scores state safety based on proposed and enacted legislation. She regularly updates the map (including explanations of recent legislative changes) on her site. She has a separate map for trans youth (which: warning, is even more scary), since a lot of policies target minors specifically.

It’s depressing as all hell, but Erin does great work and I’ve been using her maps to plan my career and vacations for years. It’s helped me figure out where to apply for grad school, and helps me keep track of what states I cannot do a layover in while flying because of bathroom bills.

Hey Heleniacs,

Just did something I thought I’d never do - design my very own Transformer! This one’s RallyJack, a British Autobot whose alt mode is an MG Metro 6R4 Group B Rally car from back in the mid 80s. Hey Heleniacs,

Had a pretty productive weekend, artistically speaking. The first is a birthday present for my grandma, who loves bluebirds. The second is the return of none other than Helena herself, with a Datsun Fairlady Z.
