These early smooth skin wetsuits were fantastic to wear. In my early rubber days, they were the closest I got to a latex suit.... And they were cheaper. Would love to wear one today to see if they still have the same magic they did in my youth.

Check my Blog and you will see I re-blogged this photo by 'Gazpratt' and described that in my day, the shoulders would have been 'yellow' and the name of the construction firm I worked for would have been printed across the shoulders........... the company was 'LAING'.

So, I used a bit of 'Photoshop' and had a go at changing the shoulders and the hi-viz trousers.......... this is the result............ So this is how I would have looked in my late teens in the early 1970's .

Thanks to Gazpratt for giving me the chance to create and long lasting memory of mine.

Should I be flattered?

If you want to be, it was your photo that stirred memories of the past, when a donkey jacket was one of the most favoured coats of guys going to and from work.

Companies used the pvc shoulder covering to advertise their company and who the person worked for.

The jackets were warm and durable and were a popular item until the mid to late 1980's.

Made more so by the National Coal Board. Orange shoulders with NCB on the back.

One strange thing is I drive up and down the M1 regularly and can still see the bridges I helped to construct.

I once wore a 'Donkey Jacket' like this, but in my day, there were no hi-viz and instead of a white PVC shoulder cover, it was 'yellow' and in black writing was the word 'LAING'.

That was the company I did some work for........ Who were they, LAING were a major construction company......... who built the first motorways in the UK, the M1, being the first.

Both look good........ but prefer the orange hi-viz.

This is not mine........ I found it on the web...even might have been on Tumblr......... It's a simple photo of young guys in hi-viz doing woodland maintenance.

But, it is how you see it, read it and interpret it and then weave a story around it...... enjoy...

When they told me, I was going on a work experience course in the forest, I didn't know I was going to be doing woodland maintenance. They gave me some special protective clothing to wear in orange and blue, I later learnt it was called Hi-viz, so we could be seen, to prevent accidents. When I saw myself in a mirror, I felt excited, so much so, I had an hard-on in my pants. I rubbed it, hoping nobody was looking at me........ Oh no, I was nearly cumming in my pants.

We all worked hard that day and I realised........ if this was 'work experience', this is the job I wanted to do, especially dressed like this.

I've done this a lot of times...........Wonder what he is doing......... He's listening for a burst water pipe in the ground. Plumbers and water board guys can detect the vicinity where the burst is located..
