the one muse i didn’t think would come back to me. is xayah.

* HEADCANON ( cosmic dusk )

in the beginning , xayah was a very clueless deity . when she was created and brought into existence , she was unbelievably silent and couldn’t , for the life of her , branch out to the other deities and servants that worked alongside her in the cycle of day and night . the ones who helped dot the skies with stars , the enchantress who placed each galaxy in their rightful place . hell , not even to the queen who had given her the mantle she bears .

xayah was a recluse and some say that she still is to this day , but she is more lonesome in her manners . the only thing she does do , it 1 . her job , and 2 . she listens to the prayers many people offer to her , they give her small shred of delight when she hears them turn to her in their time of need . this was the one and only requested she asked the little enchantress , to have a special item that can link her to the worlds they have traveled past .

and for this source of loneliness is mainly sourced to the fact that she has an other half that she has yet to meet , being left with a name and his epitaph . there is nothing else for her to truly know , but there are moments where she asks the cosmic queen of this half to her she’s yet to meet . and it bittersweet to know that he too asks of his other half when the queen speaks of him .

overall what i mean to say , is that xayah is far more gentle in this verse , but she is a recluse with no real plans on speaking to people unless she has to . or , unless someone or something seeks her out for a purpose only she could somehow fulfill . her ties with the cosmic blade and reaver are minimal , as well as her ties with the enchantress , but subtly , she deems herself more closer to the queen than the rest . as the queen has seen her in more vulnerable moments of her existence than any other .

though , when he says such it doesn’t stop the subtle chuckle that leaves her , sometimes she had to do missions alone . planning and working out things for them to execute later when the time is right , it was her playing field after all . her rebellion .... it was all she had going for her , and to have rakan right there alongside her . there was no hint of doubt in her mind that they could do it . though .... there was always the deeply desired urge to leave and not turn back ; not because she didn’t care for rakan , no . in fact , she cared too much for him , and a guy like him .... she didn’t want to put him on a path that wouldn’t be received well by the ionians .

but when the battle dancer retorts in such a way that would declare that his place was right beside her , fighting for a cause he believed in . xayah knew she found a good guy . if only she could lessen the weight of all this for him . if only she had that power .

❝ well , listen up , big guy . we gotta head out tonight . there’s a village that’s got some information i need . and i’m sure you can keep an audience entertained long enough for me to acquire it , yeah ? ❞
