So would it make sense that pipe weapons would have existed before the Great War? I mean with the nation throwing everything at China it could make sense. Americans have always armed themselves and with most weapons be shipped to the front lines civilian arms would be rare for lower class

The Canon about pipe weapons has been kinda screwed up by Fallout 4. The fact that they only exist in fallout 4 makes it confusing how it was used in other games or regions. There can't really be a defined answer but it makes perfect sense about it being a lower class weapon in the pre war tines. But then again, guns don't seem to be an issue to obtain in the fallout world.
