Last week the Jamaican Canadian Association held a debate about the Black Community in Ontario and what each party would do for this community if elected in the June Ontario Election.

Participating were Kathleen Wynne (Liberals), Andrea Horwath (NDP) and Mike Schreiner (Greens). Doug Ford was invited but choose not to participate.

According to the moderator of the debate, Andrea Horwath of the Ontario NDP, won the debate, but watch for yourself.

Trump is still president. That hasn’t changed it seems. :/

I’m swamped. I’m starting an internship next week. Super nervous but I’ll get through it somehow. I have 3 internships to go through and then I’m hoping not to have to go to school ever again. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to afford to anyway.

Between my studies and work, i’m too exhausted to even come on here. Perhaps when i’m done these few papers that i have to write for next week, i’ll be able to come back here for a bit.

During the complainant's testimony, Camp told the young woman that "pain and sex sometimes go together" and asked why she didn't just keep her "knees together."

The controversial former judge who asked why a woman didn’t keep her knees together to prevent an alleged rape wants to practise law again in Alberta.

The Law Society of Alberta has scheduled a reinstatement hearing for Robin Camp later this month.

“That’s what he knows how to do,” said Camp’s lawyer, Alain Hepner. “He was, as I understand, an excellent lawyer, he did largely construction law.”

“He wants to get back into the practice of law in Canada.”

Obviously he doesn’t know how to do it. It wasn’t just his comments during the trial that sustained the controversy. (Including continually calling the victim as “the accused” even slipped it in in some of his ‘apologies’.

“So, this has cooled down in the public eye, can I come back now?” is bullshit.

“It’s all he knows how to do!” Then get re-training like the rest of us have to.

Camp has consistently tried to slink away from taking responsibility and this remains the case it seems. I’m sure it’s been a “difficult two years” of being held accountable for his actions… but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still accountable.

Re-train, go into a different field. And if you can’t, well, go get a grocery store job like the rest of us when we can’t get work in our studied fields of education (hah for those of us who can even get those).

What was that the government has been saying? You should be preparing for a precarious job market and temporary work? You’re not above the rest of us Camp, you fucked up, you resigned before you were fired, fucking own it dude.

FBI Targets ‘Black Identity Extremists’

“Black Identity Extremists”. That’s the label an internal report by the FBI’s counter-terrorism division is giving to black activists around the country. The report says they pose a growing threat of premeditated violence against law enforcement in response to police brutality. Former government officials and legal experts say no such movement exists and this is an attempt by the FBI and the Trump administration to find an equivalent threat to white supremacists and silence black activists.
