Our first home bout is next Saturday! Our Battalion of Skates is facing off against Undead Roller Derby’s The Damned and our Vendolls are taking on the Pacific Coast Recycled Rollers!

Darlene Anderson broke roller derby color barrier in 1958

We’re celebrating Black History Month by commemorating Darlene Anderson, the first black skater to play roller derby. She won rookie of the year at age 19 in 1958 while skating in Brooklyn. She skated all over with world with the Hawaii All Stars, San Francisco Bay Brawlers, New York Chiefs, and Los Angeles Braves.
