hi i am alive but lots has been happening (bday and results day and trying to sort out everything university wise before going on holiday on tuesday) so I have not been around as much as I would have liked. if you want to chat or whatever I’m pretty much always around on discord at the moment so hmu on that. I probably won’t be active much again until I get back after hols (about 2nd September) and then it isn’t too long until I start uni so activity is gonna drop again

he couldn’t imagine being away from court for so long. he’d been away but never for years on end. he was glad for it really.

dancing was something the young valois deeply, especially when her partner was someone she loved. she used to dance with their father when she was very young, standing on his feet so he could lead her around.

he really should have known that their mother would be throwing a ball for margot. she never missed an opportunity to organise large events.

“His assistance is often greatly needed, it’s true.” He smiled slightly, giving a small nod to her curtesy. “If I’m honest, I think I would prefer to stay in the country as well. Much more peaceful.”
“Exactly my reason for staying there. Besides, I can ride whenever i want there. I imagine that isn’t the case here.” Her smile grew somewhat, still having brought both of her horses so she could ride freely. Duty had brought her to court, but it didn’t mean she’d spend all her days searching for a husband who’d help her family.
“If only I could ride whenever I wanted. But I don't think it would please many people if I didn't turn up because I chose to spend the day riding instead.” It was the reason he had always envied Bash. Not because being Dauphin and then King wasn't good but simply because he had never had quite the same freedom as Bash, even as children.

he liked all of mary’s ladies. maybe not at first and maybe he never tried to hold proper conversation with one or two of them, but he did like them. he couldn’t be upset by them feeling free to speak as they liked around him. it was a welcome change to most of his conversations at court.
“do you know what mary’s wearing instead? i haven’t seen her since this morning so we never had much chance to talk about this evening.”
greer couldn’t help the fact that she preferred being honest with everyone. what if they were to make a mistake that she could have prevented? she would have felt terrible.. she’d watched the interactions between francis and her queen. she would have been lying if she’d said she wasn’t jealous. she wanted a handsome man to love her the way francis loved mary.

he was entirely aware that greer had not had the easiest time at french court but then, all things considered, did anyone have an easy life at court? he would be surprised. he would always be willing to help greer, the same he would want to help lola or kenna, if it meant their lives would improve.
“ i would hardly want to embarrass mary so perhaps it would be best if kenna was able to check. thank you. ”

“I think we both know you are more than capable of looking after yourself.” He had learnt that about Mary rather quickly. If she was refused help, she would always find another way. “Perhaps we should avoid getting stuck in another conversation like that tonight.”
“I highly doubt that will be possible.”, the young queen mumbled. “I have just escaped a vivid conversation about candle wax.”, Mary informed Francis, the hint of a smirk twitching in the corner of her mouth. “Please tell me that your mother made sure to invite a few knight or ambassadors with intresting stories.”
“Candle wax? Now that is a dire conversation topic.” A slight laugh escaped the blond royal as he reached to take a drink from a nearby table. “My mother invites so many people, there must be someone with a more interesting story to tell.”

And somehow it was the Dauphin who acted as her carer, instead of fighting in the battles alongside his men. “Arguing with me is pointless and it gets you nowhere.
