&&. announcing her royal highness, ( verona viviana di savoia ), the ( 37 ) year old ( princess regent ) of ( italy ). she is often confused with ( candice swanepoel ). some say that she is ( unforgiving & inconsiderate ), but she is actually ( social & confident ). ( OOC: naomi )
verona is the youngest child of king marco and queen celine. the sixth child to be exact. being the sixth meant that she didn’t have much of a role. it meant that she was partly raised by her older siblings because marco and celine simply didn’t have the time to give her the attention she wanted and, quite frankly, needed.
most of the time she was glued to ernesto’s side. he was a good replacement for king marco. ernesto was the one she begged to come to her piano recitals and got mad at if she didn’t have 41 or more birthday gifts waiting for her when she first opened her eyes on her birthday morning. ernesto became her role model and as she grew older and discarded her childish qualities, she adapted some of her older brother’s callousness.
the traits were of use of to her. she entered the world of politics quite prepared — and quite willing to do anything to succeed. her older siblings had left the nest so it was just her and ernesto in rome. simonetta was in poland, antonia by the swiss border, giambattista in sicily, sebastiano in naples, catarina in portugal, and giuliano in germany. she liked rome. she liked the palace. she liked knowing the people working for her family.
then their father passed away, and the atmosphere in the palace shifted. she patted her mother’s back and kept her company in the evenings, but spent her days making sure ernesto’s ascension would go smoothly. ernesto dropped a piece of crap on the floor, verona wiped it away and waxed the floor. it was a dynamic that worked because being close to ernesto meant that she had access to all sorts of perks.
somewhere along the line she forgot that she would eventually have to make room for ernesto’s real heir. she was just the sister and as much as she had been coached by her brother, crown prince giovanni was the star of the show. verona’s role was something very different from her nephew’s. as giovanni began to show up in meetings, verona began to be left out. ernesto directed her elsewhere, gave her other projects to replace the ones that had been given to giovanni as training.
her pride took quite the hit and the period of change was hard on her. she really had to work on her envy and keep it at bay. it wasn’t that she necessarily wanted the position, it was that she felt much less important than she had been.
eventually her and gio’s projects tended to intertwine, she taught him the things ernesto didn’t have time to teach him... and she had to admit, she rather liked having a pupil. it made her feel smart and experienced.
ernesto’s death was a devastating event for her. she lost her favourite family member and the person she had sought guidance from. giovanni’s life was upturned and she knew what her role in the transition was. she had moved from walking behind ernesto to walking in front of gio and now she would be walking behind the boy.
verona has made it her goal to continue her father’s and brother’s work, she does her best to respect their vision for italy and for the family dynasty. see, what she never quite understood was why the savoys let people boss them around. they were a dynasty, a modern dynasty that was rivaled by no other. she’s been very supportive of every move gio has made. given him suggestions, sharing information with him... her closeness to her nephew was eventually rewarded by the title of princess regent.
when stella ricci was removed from the italian throne ( an in-law verona had always liked but never loved ), verona was placed on it. she promised to keep the seat warm for her nephew when the law would allow him to ascend the throne.
it was a position she had never expected to find herself in. an immense amount of power at her fingertips. with an ally who thought alike and was possibly even more ambitious than she was. it was a good equation. it was the freedom she needed for the goals she dreamt up.
verona is a social creature. she talks quite a lot, laughs even more, and loves attention. but she can’t take a joke. half of her smiles are there to hide the fact that she got offended by someone’s light-hearted quip. she has a very saccharine composition to the point where it’s almost too much to be enjoyable. she thinks very highly of the savoy bloodline. she’s very prideful. i’m just going to try and make her a little bit obnoxious, a bit cooky, and just mainly chaotically evil :)
lmk if you have some plots she could fill !!!!
