mr. mulpepper’s ♓ septima & druella
Sundays were meant for the inane tasks which Septima had no time for, earlier in the week. They consisted of the rather boring tasks many detested doing - collecting groceries, doing the cleaning, to name a few. The tedium of it all very often resulted in pressure growing behind her head, spreading throughout the neck and leaving things quite hazy. Certainly, she was nearly positive, there were souls who could do such things and enjoy the experiences.
Septima Phoebe Vector was not among these people.
The blizzard which had plagued London for so many days had finally come to an end. Septima had remained, relatively speaking, unaffected by the storm. Her flat remained warm, and safe, a refuge of sorts from the racing winds and violently falling snow. Duties to Aversio and the Order were essentially all which kept her from remaining inside without fail throughout it all.
However, now that it had finished, there were many things to attend to. Diagon Alley, it seemed, had come back from the lack of business in the hazardous conditions without nearly any fail. Snow had been lifted from the cobblestone streets, the harsh winter sun doing little to provide warmth nonetheless. Frigid wind numbed fingertips as Septima ducked into her final stop of the day.
Friendly chimes signaled her entrance, followed soon enough by the familiar, hearty welcome of Mr. Mulpepper himself. Tucking her hands into the folds of her deep blue robes, she delved further into the shop, feet slipping ever so slightly -- just enough to skid her steps. Land her close to another patron.
She was not familiar with many of the Sacred, but even Septima recognized a Black when she saw one.
“Pardon me, Madame Black. Slick floor. Lost my footing.”

septima & andromeda
andromeda:
“That’s how we feel as well, honestly. I’m still a stunned on a daily basis when I realize she’s my daughter.” The moment she had realized she was pregnant had been simultaneously the best and worst moment of Andromeda’s life. She was beyond thrilled to have a child with Ted - and yet … There had been so much she didn’t know how to do, so much she was unprepared for - so much she had been sure she would do wrong. Even now, as Dora grew up and it was clear that her upbringing was good, that she was happy and most importantly, she knew how much her parents loved her, Andromeda still felt like she wasn’t a fit mother. But she wouldn’t undo any of it, because Dora was such a gift.
Dora shifted a little, squirming closer and sending a pang through Andromeda. She pressed another kiss to the top of her daughter’s head and tightened her grip ever so slightly - not as tight as it had been immediately following the confrontation, but far tighter than it used to be. That was as much for her benefit as for Dora’s; there were few thing that reassured her now, but one of those things was feeling Dora safe in her arms. But she did attempt to relax the grip again, to relax everything; she was home and safe and Ted was here. Her eyes sought him out instinctively, meeting his gaze across the room and she could swear she felt his love.
Turning her attention to Septima again, she nodded once more. It did seem an inopportune time to venture out of the country, at least as far as their cause went. If she just wanted to get away, of course, then it was as good as any other time, or even better. “I’m sure you’ll settle in again without any difficulty though,” she said reassuringly. It shouldn’t be too difficult, to adjust to life here again. “That does sound fascinating. What ways does it differ there from raising children here?” Now that she had a daughter, Andromeda was far more interested in matters like that than she had been before. It was more relevant to her immediate concerns. “Of course, there’s a rather large difference in the ways children are raised here as well, just depending on what sort of background one comes from.”
Septima was far too selfish a woman to ever truly consider the prospect of having her own children. There was a high level of respect for those who decided they were ready for such a responsibility, of course. To put more of yourself into the world and be prepared for a lifetime of raising it to be its own person. . .it was certainly admirable. Even if Septima herself wasn’t certain such fate would ever be hers.
Even without the maternal drive which seemed so prominent elsewhere, she loved the little Tonks girl. What may have began as simple curiosity over her unique abilities had spawned, shifting into true affection. She held a strong sense of respect for Andromeda; it took more bravery to make the choices she had than Septima had ever seen. Nymphadora had a wonderful mother to learn from. In a way, Vector found herself envious. And yet with the envy brought a sense of relief -- never would Dora have to wonder if her family’s love was genuine.
“Now, that is especially true.” Septima nodded. She knew all too well how vastly families could differentiate in the ways one was raised. Andromeda may have been a Pureblood as well, but even Septima was well aware the Vectors and Blacks would have been different at least in some sense. “If you’d like, I would be more than happy to talk about the differences between our customs and those in Africa, when it comes to raising children. It would really be a pleasure, having somebody to discuss it all with.”

work in progress ♠ septima & alastor
She was fidgeting. It was ridiculously inane and painfully out of sorts, and yet, for once her composure could not be so carefully crafted. Paled fingertips drummed anxiously against her knee,in a pattern. Little to pointer finger, pointer to little, repeat. Control very well played a part in the motion, Septima needing the illusion of holding control even when internally she very well felt as if she was falling apart.
Over a year had come to pass since the tragedy that had shifted everything. Too much time had sped past. Three hundred and eighty-five days. Perhaps counting in such an exact way, how long it had been since the Death Eaters had struck him down, taken her other half, the man she entered the world with and had put her heart into, away from her was a bad idea. Not a day passed when she didn’t think of it, remember the bright green stream of light as it struck him. . . Obsession. That was what it bordered on.
Septima had become very skilled in hiding the grief as it washed over her. Growing up in the home she had, in the ways she had, composure and concealing true emotion had been skills one must master at an early age. She may have been the youngest, but Vector had done it marvelously.
And yet, her damn fingers wouldn’t settle.
It was really just lucky the Order was still wrapping up from the night’s inane meetings. Lucky everyone was distracted, that she could perhaps hold up the facade a moment longer. If nothing else, it allowed an extra moment to pull herself together.

moonshine | septima & gladys
gladys:
As a rule of thumb, Gladys did her best to avoid being out after dark since her attack. When she had to be she typically chose to apparate, but she also typically chose to avoid anything terribly unpleasant and anything stronger than wine. Since her evening hadn’t gone exactly according to the plan she had laid out in her mind she she found herself walking home from her evening out rather than apparating close to her building. Her hand was wrapped around her wand, she fully intended to be diligent on this walk, but ti was cold and the warmth of her coat drew her into it more. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she realized someone was attempting to catch up to her and was at her side in a minute she was a beat slow in an attempt to pull hr wand out, but there was a sense of relief when she recognized Septima.
She offered a smile as they settled into a comfortable stride together, “I confess I didn’t expect to run into you here, but I am more than glad for the company.” She didn’t know the other girl well outside of the fact that she had seen her in meetings, but the simple truth was that any company was excellent, but company whom she was certain was on the same side was a luxury. “Septima,” she greeted her warmly by name as she relaxed as she looks over at her. “How are you? It’s a happy coincidence to be certain. When I first headed out I thought it seemed more crowded than normal. Perhaps like I used to remember it being before….Well, before things became like this. Yet, it empties out of in a flash. It seems like I made the right choice to give up on waiting and start to head home though. What has you out so late this evening?” she inquired and then pursed her lips because she maybe should have started with something less invasive. “I think it’s considerably wiser if we travel together while we can. Are you going too far? ”
As a child, winter had been a cherished time. Much of the world’s natural beauty may have died, plants withering and the sun seeming to become cold as it cast light upon the earth. And yet, in the despair of the season, with her brother by her side it became inordinately more enjoyable. It was because of Joseph’s ever-present enthusiasm for such instances that Septima had become immune to the cold in so many ways, by such a prime age. It held such beauty in its existence, something the woman enjoyed even in the moments when vicious winds left pale fingertips numb.
However, any semblance there once was of the winter being joyous had died in the very second Septima’s other half, her twin, had been cut down and taken from her life. Now in his place, winter was simply a thing to endure, rather than enjoy. Immunity remained, keeping slender limbs from freezing over in the evening’s crude breeze. The moon hung brightly overhead, providing more light than the occasional street lamp.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you.” She promised, falling easily into step alongside of Gladys. Listening to her words, Septima nodded along in understanding, the words resonating in a way that was far more recognizable than the woman could have hoped. Their world’s ever increasing war had changed things in a way nobody could have anticipated, and surely nobody enjoyed. “Not very far, no. I lost track of time, was actually considering stopping for a bite somewhere. You’re welcome to join me, if you’d like.”
