i am so happy iwtv didn't go the route of having claudia forgive louis or lestat or being at peace with her death. she is full of rage. she is angry. she is spiteful. she has every right to be.

Claudia will always suffer at the hands of her parents, will never have a moment of peace because they can’t let her go and be her own person, will always be loved as a concept by them but never as a person, a sister or daughter, taken advantage as an emotional support doll by them. Claudia’s fate was sealed the night Louis decided he wanted a reason to not be seen as something more than a monster, as someone who thought he was doing a good deed but he and Lestat did the exactly opposite.
They doomed Claudia to an eternity of misery, suffering, disrespect, disregard and death because as she said. It was never about her, it was about their stormy romance!

i have a hot take about iwtv and louis and lestat's interactions with regina. i actually don't think it's sweet at all. claudia spent her life caught in the storm that was louis and lestat's lives. she died an agonizing, painful death because of the actions of these men (directly and indirectly) and now we have regina, a normal human, being pulled into their lives. they can't let claudia's memory rest. from a narrative standpoint, that's a really interesting character element but that doesn't mean it is correct. they should have never involved themselves in regina's life.
i love you goth girls who are fun and full of whimsy.
i enjoyed (for lack of a better way) the way terror's death was done in the boys for the same reason i like the death of pa kent in superman. now let me be clear i am not happy these characters die. in fact terror's passing had me full on wailing. but as a viewer and a lover of storytelling i enjoyed the way their deaths where done.
let's begin with pa kent. his death varies across the 90 year span of superman's run but the most common (in my experience) is his death by heart attack. it's awful and tragic but it's so incredibly human. clark kent is superman. he can fly, shoot lasers out of his eyes and survive having buildings dropped on him but he cannot save his father from dying. because jonathan kent is a human. humans get old, get sick, or die suddenly because of medical complications. clark, for all his power, can't stop this.
then we have terror. the beloved dog of billy butcher. i was so worried the boys would kill terror in some god awful way and i'm thankful they didn't. terror passes away peacefully because he is an old dog and old dogs die. butcher can survive being shot at, heal his wounds and has literal cancerous tentacles but he cannot stop his dog from dying.
it's so painfully mortal and from a storytelling perspective i really enjoy that.
I don't mind that they gave john logan a non-binary sibling. i don't mind that jules is a dickhead to most people. i mind that their inclusion was so poorly done ? why are they sitting in his truck after practice? like where you just hanging out in your brother's truck waiting for him to finish practice? why are they always at the house ? why are they kinda just THERE in so many scenes but not actually serving much of a function in the plot? there was a way to do this that would have made the character dynamic and interesting but instead they're kinda just there.
it is not lost on me and it should not be lost on you either that it was a wealthy, seemingly normal man who likes to go golfing with his buddies that assaulted emma when digby, an unhoused man who society often views as inherently inhumane, has treated everyone (including emma) with kindness.
isa briones and patrick ball: these characters are so similar that they're mirrors of each other and that's why they are constantly on the attack because they each remind the other so much of themselves. neither is wrong in their own mind and that puts them at odds with each other but truly the situation is more complicated than who is right and who is wrong
langdon stans: SANTOS IS A BITCH WHO RUINED LANGDON'S LIFE
santos stans: LANGDON IS AN ASSHOLE WHO DESERVES TO LOSE HIS JOB AND SUFFER
listen i understand that santos and langdon are both adults responsible for their own emotions and actions but at least some of the blame has to go to robby. he is the attending. sure it's not exactly the same as being a manager but he is the senior most doctor they have. he is effectively the leader of the team. he should have been doing work on himself and dealing with his own feelings about langdon but instead he shoved everything down and allowed it to fester and because of that he is basically helping to foster the hostility between langdon and santos. if he had dealt with his feelings, if he had done anything to help santos deal with hers (simply asking if she has seen a counselor is not enough), if he had in any way prepared langdon for returning to work rather than ignoring the issue. this entire situation could have gone differently. and i understand that part of what makes this situation fascinating is the very human reactions to it but still robby is the leader and he is failing (more than just santos and langdon tbh but we'll focus on them) to not only support his residents and students in any proper emotional manner but he is so blinded by his own feelings that he has created a tense work environment that everyone is feeling the repercussions of.
'you can't ship characters in the pitt it's not that kinda show'

wow i can't believe nothing bad happened to baelor targaryen.
imagine you are ponyboy curtis. you're dirt poor and live in a rough neighborhood. less than a year ago both of your parents died horrifically when their car was hit by a train. you feel this is your fault since they were running an errand you forgot to do. last week your best friend was savagely beaten by a bunch of rich jerks and now is going to walk with a permanent limp. yesterday you yourself where attacked simply for wanting to go see a movie. your oldest brother is so overworked and stressed that his frustration often gets misplaced on you. your middle brother is work long shifts at a gas station and struggling to deal with the abandonment of his pregnant girlfriend. you just want to go to the movies with your friends only to get into another altercation with the same rich jerks then when you get home you get into a fight with your brother because neither of you understand the other and then he strikes you. then you get attacked AGAIN by the same rich jerks and your best friends stabs and kills the leader in self defense. you have to abandon everything you know and then the church you're hiding out in catches fire with a bunch if kids in it. your best friend is paralyzed and severely burned. when he passes away from his injuries, your other friend is overcome with anger and grief that he jumps in front of a train, dying in a tragically similar way to your parents when you are already convinced that death follows the people you love.
oh, and did i mention? you are fourteen.
saw the outsiders tour tonight and during tulsa '67 one of the boards that lean up against the scaffolding fell and the kid who plays johnny picked it up and then flipped off the socs who were standing on the scaffolding and the snort that left me was so loud.
