Second week of film scoring! Have a scene from the 1968 classic Bullitt, probably the most famous car chase without music. Excited to hear your version of chase music!

Elise Seifert kind of stumbled on music when her parents won an auction for piano lessons. It's hard to imagine this young composer's life without music
Elise Seifert got lucky-twice. When she was a kid, her parents won piano lessons at an auction, and soon thereafter she got her hands on free composing software. Mix that luck with talent and commitment, and here we have a composer.
My partner is the coolest 😍😍😍 she was just interviewed for our local NPR branch about her composing AND I AM SO PROUD OF YOU @bassoonrockeur 💛💛💛😘😘😘
First post! A great place to start this film scoring ideas blog with an opener to a quiet film - I Am Legend. Compose your rescore and reblog it on this post or tag filmscoring-prompts! Some of them will be featured on this page. Happy composing!
I did a rescore for the opening to I Am Legend. Tried to keep the sound very ambient and light, still clear that he is the only man left in the world.

Had a lot of fun making this one.
Life In Captivity, In One Photograph
Remember when I said I wanted to make a video a about running and write music for that....well over a year later and it is finally finished!
Also, I am currently in Seattle at a film scoring workshop. More exciting things will be happening soon.
I’m just going to shout to void (or whoever’s awake) for a second here. I’m in a weird mood. I just watched Paper Towns, and this has happened a couple of time before (namely after Secret Life of Walter Mitty and that sound-walk I did ages ago). But I’m feeling empty, contemplating my paper-ness, or maybe that I’m not empty, but instead everything else is. That the only reason we connect is because we consume, because that’s all we do now, and that mutual consumption of the world is what drains my fullness. Hell if I know. All I know is that I was standing in the waves off a beach illuminated by the pier lights half a mile away at 11:30 tonight and thinking that it’s all bullshit and consumerism the only real thing left is nature and all the humans have become shells, and the only good consumption is that of pure untouched nature but that’s impossible because once you consume it you’ve tainted it. And maybe humans aren’t shells and there are other people staring into the dark clouds trying to imagine the consumers complexly, but maybe they’re just sound asleep in their beds dreaming of Oreos or steak or whatever their going to buy with their next paycheck. Does that make them less complex. Do I make any sense, is my brain just low on those lovely chemicals like dopamine and serotonin again. just some thoughts.
So my bestie said I couldn’t cut my hair short/get a mohawk before her wedding...so instead I my second and third piercings (only on the right side because I’m a pirate like that).
I know TBT is a thing but can I do a catch-up Saturday because I realize I haven’t updated y’all since I’ve been back in the US. I am currently dog sitting for a neighbor, back on a completely vegan lifestyle, doing yoga (not so much barefoot running because it has been 99 degrees everyday), trying to find a job (might have an interview!), and trying to adjust to being back in the US. I can say that the burritos are good and I do love driving around and the independence that gives me.
If Aphrodite had stomach rolls then so can I
This is veryveryvery important. My wife was feeling down about herself the other night and asked me “why do I look like this?” And I immediately brought up a photo I had taken of a sculpture of Aphrodite I had taken at the Chicago MOMA. I said, “look at this picture. What does she look like?” And my wife very shyly answered “Me…” (Literally her body is IDENTICAL to the sculpture) so I replied “that is the Goddess Aphrodite. THAT is why your body looks like this.”
A crazy last couple of days. I'm back in the USA, lovely view of eastern North Carolina for the plane and one of my cats waking me up.
Back in Paris. The odyssey before I return to the US continues. Saint Chapelle and a lovely evening on île de cité and île Saint Louis.
Thessaloniki Day 2
(Sorry the photos aren’t great, my camera has been malfunctioning and so I’ve been using my phone)
Thessaloniki, Greece!
